BUHARI'S HISTORICAL MESSAGE TO APC DELEGATES!

As you gather for our convention, please remember that history, change and the hopes of Nigeria are there with you. They are there to ask you to perform according to your best judgment and patriotic conscience. I also ask you to do the same.

We seek a new Nigeria. It starts with us. It starts today. I have placed myself before you seeking your help to nominate me as your standard bearer for our progressive party, APC.

Personal ambition does not drive me in this regard. I seek to be the next president of our beloved nation because I believe I have something to offer Nigeria at this time of multiple crises. Insecurity, corruption, and economic collapse have brought the nation low. Time is past due that we work together to lift Nigeria up. I am ready to lead Nigeria to its rightful future.

I have always served Nigeria to the best of my ability. I have always tried to give more to the nation than it has given me. This is the principle of service that has guided my public life. Thus, I am not a rich person. I can’t give you a pocketful of dollars or naira to purchase your support. Even if I could, I would not do so. The fate of this nation is not up for sale.

What I will give you, and this nation is all of my strength, commitment, sweat and toil in the service of the people. What I can give you is my all.

I do not intend to rule Nigeria. I want to democratically govern it with your help. I seek a Nigeria where Christians and Muslims may practise their faiths in peace and security; a Nigeria that is just and where corruption no longer trespasses into our institutions and national behavior and a Nigeria where our diversity could be used for our national prosperity.

Nigeria is our home. Let us now turn it into the great nation we know it can and should be.

I thank you all

Muhammadu Buhari (RTD) GCFR

PDP SET TO IMPOSE PARALLEL SPEAKER ON TAMBUWAL!

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is working behind the scenes to plant one of its members as a new Speaker of the House of Representatives as part of an elaborate plan to undermine the incumbent, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who recently left the PDP to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Three sources at the PDP secretariat and the National Assembly told SaharaReporters that officials at the Presidency as well as hawkish elements within the party were collaborating on a plan to prop up an alternative speaker in order to create an effective revolt against Mr. Tambuwal’s continued role as head of the House.

“The party’s simple majority will just announce a new Speaker and rubbish Aminu Tambuwal,” said one of the sources.

One other source disclosed, however, that many PDP representatives were reluctant to do the bidding of the Presidency, especially after a botched plan hatched by the Presidency to impeach Mr. Tambuwal in a Gestapo-style operation last week. “[The] majority of members are reluctant because of what happened last week, but the Presidency is still insisting that a new Speaker must be installed, no matter the consequences,” said the source.

“There is a directive that Tambuwal must be uprooted from being Speaker because the Presidency knows the implications of allowing him to stay. They are insisting that the PDP members should nominate one of them since they have [a] simple majority in the House. And that they should challenge Tambuwal’s stool since APC has no majority in the House,” one source disclosed.

He added, “Some members are skeptical in view of their relationship with Tambuwal. And some of them are also not satisfied with President Jonathan’s high-handedness, but the PDP is using that to ascertain their loyalty to the party and may threaten them.”

Our sources said there had been a series of meetings between the party and prominent PDP members of the House of Representatives in order to advance the Presidency’s goal of thwarting Mr. Tambuwal’s speakership.

KWARA GOV'S CONVOY ATTACKED!

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara State chapter has alleged that armed thugs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ambushed and attacked Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed's convoy in Kaiama, Headquarters of Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State on Tuesday.

In a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, the APC described the attack on Governor's Abdulfatah Ahmed's convoy as the height of political provocation.

"On Tuesday, His Excellency Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed the flaged-off the reconstruction of Kishi-Kaiama federal road and commissioned Kaiama General Hospital. This was followed by the turbaning of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed as the first Jarma of Kaiama by the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Sheu Omar at his palace.

"Apparently bitter and terrified by the rousing reception accorded Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and his entourage by APC members and the good people of Kaiama, a member of PDP State Executive Committee (SEC) led his armed thugs to mount ambush on the road around a PDP secretariat which is not far away from the Emir's palace immediately after the turbanning.

"The armed thugs launched unprovoked attacks on the convoy of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed. Many vehicles were destroyed in the convoy while our party members sustained injuries.

"Kwara APC preaches and practices peace, even though all households in Kwara State are quite familiar with the violent antecedents and tendencies of the PDP. We can not fathom why the few armed PDP thugs on rampage in Kaiama on Tuesday would choose to welcome development with violence.

"We condemn the attack on Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed's convoy and APC members. It is the height of political provocation.

"The competence of the security agencies in Kwara State is being challenged by the activities of PDP thugs in Kwara State. If the people in Mr Governor's convoy cannot be immuned from ambush and attack, then, the ordinary people of Kwara State without privileges of police escort are at the mercy of rampaging PDP thugs in Kwara State.

"Security agencies should know that the attack on Mr Governor's convoy is a signal to the well-oiled violence machinery the PDP intends to launch in Kwara State in the build-up to the 2015 general elections.

"We call on the Police Command and other security agencies in Kwara State to promptly investigate and bring to book the PDP thugs who orchestrated the attack.

"We state that Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed represents the symbol of our unity and prosperity in Kwara State. We shall fight with the last drop of our blood to protect his security.

"Kwara APC has issued more than Fifteen (15) press statements on the violent tendencies of the PDP in Kwara State and nothing seems to have changed about PDP's threat to peace in Kwara State.

"The Police Command and other security agencies should not expect Kwara APC to continue to issue press statements after brutal attacks on APC members by a party that is less than 30% of our fellowership base in Kwara State."

PDP WILL NEVER RULE LAGOS - RILWAN AKIOLU, OBA OF LAGOS

The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has said the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, will never produce a governor in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.

The state of over nine million people has consistently been ruled by the opposition since the return of democracy to the country in 1999.

The PDP has however intensify its plan to win over the state from the the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming elections.

But speaking as the chief launcher of the autobiography of the former President of the Court of Appeal, Mustapha Akanbi, at the Sheraton Hotel in Abuja on Wednesday, Mr. Akiolu said Lagos would continue to be under the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

“Recently, I told Bode George, (Musiliu) Koro and (Adeseye) Ogunlewe that “Look at me o! You will never win Lagos. God will give us another APC governor”.

The monarch, who elicited a lot of excitement from the audience, also stated that he became the Oba of Lagos through divine intervention and that he did not spend a dime.

” After I was retired, some justices of the Supreme court, including Belgore, Uwais and Akanbi came to me and told me that they intend to go and see the president, but I told them with due respect that, that is where God wants me to be.

“One of them, Wali held my hand, and prayed, saying that within one year, you will see what God will do in your life, and exactly a year later, my father, the late Oba, joined his ancestors.
” Governor Tinubu came and said don’t give anyone any money to be Oba, if it is yours, it will surely come and that is how I became the Oba, even though President (Olusegun) Obasanjo was against me,” the Oba said.

Mr. Obasanjo, who was also seated at the high table with the monarch, simply laughed.

AT 70, NIGERIANS DEMAND ALTERNATIVE TO BUHARI!

As an intro, a section of Nigerian youths postulate that if push comes to shove and bearing in mind that PDP shakes whenever Tambuwal sneezes, APC should consider Hon Tambuwal/Amaechi/Fashola, the speaker of the House of Representatives as its compromise candidate for the presidency and forget the Buhari/Atiku perennial penchant for the presidential slot.

Posterity will not forgive the board of trustees of APC and its rigid egoistic leaders if they fail to bury ego, sentiment and personal animosity towards fielding formidable candidates to rescue power from the griping shackles of the present government of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Now is the time and period the opposition needs to get closer and capitalise on the low ratings both at home and internationally of the present administration.

Seemingly, as good as Buhari is, credible and experienced but the present dictates goes beyond the ephemeral and paraphernalia of semantics of integrity, these attributes are not cast in stone in any individual, it is innate in everyone waiting to be discovered. not a royal title, so to say.

Pundits respect General Buhari for his integrity but his obsession with wanting to be president is misplaced. He is seventy plus in age, contested thrice to no success, this will be his fourth attempt, being a past military leader.

Buhari's penchant and desire is seen more as an indictment of him, of his complicity in the failure that Nigeria has turned out to be. Great leaders build institutions that outlive them. Buhari should build a credible political party that will in the future produce credible leaders for this country and not incessantly obsess over becoming a president. This idea that if I am not the one who does it, no one else can must stop. Granted that Buhari did well when he was in charge, that was almost thirty years ago. The world has moved on. There is therefore an urgent need for regeneration. Enough of the recycled elders. APC MUST ACT NOW!

Asiwaju Tinubu Blasts Ikimi!

"Regarding Ikimi’s bid for the Chairmanship of the Party. It was clear to practically everyone who had the interest of the party at heart that we simply could not have a man of Tom Ikimi’s antecedents as Chair of the party.

As chairman of the NRC, one of the only two political parties in the country under the military transition programme, Tom Ikimi not only connived with the then military regime to annul the elections, terminate the democratic process and sell off his party. He became Abacha’s foreign minister, convincing the world that heinous state murders like the hanging of Ken Saro Wiwa were just acts! If Ikimi were the Chair of APC the party would have to sleep with both eyes open lest its chairman sell off the party before day break.

No matter what anyone may say about me it is unlikely that I can be accused of supporting incompetent or morally light-weight individuals for important political positions.

My philosophy is to put the best forward, men and women of competence and integrity, who can stand up to us politicians to challenge us and say no when necessary. Such people are not noisy or able to gain attention by being loud, I believe my role is to do all I can to project them. Who in their right mind would compare the highly principled Chief Bisi Akande, or Chief Oyegun with a Tom Ikimi? Either of these two men are known for their no-nonsense styles, not once in their careers would you hear that they betrayed a cause or were anybody’s stooge."-Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Lagos State Governor & APC Leader.

THE YANKING OF NYAKO FROM ADAMAWA!

-The Power Play And Intrigues That Led To His Impeachment

Adamawa state governor, Murtala Nyako, has been impeached by the Adamawa State House of Assembly, while his deputy, James Ngilari voluntarily resigned before the house could impeach him along with Nyako. It may be recalled that the investigative panel exonerated the Deputy Governor while it indicted Governor Murtala Nyako of impeachable allegations leveled against him by the PDP controlled parliament. It is just a matter of time before the curtain dropped on Nyako. The vultures baying for his blood had him where they wanted, and it was in a bad place.

Last weekend, there were strong indications that the seven-man panel set up to investigate allegations of gross misconduct against the Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Mr. Bala Ngilari, had indicted the governor but absolved the deputy. It was learnt that the panel set up by the immediate past acting Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Ambrose Mammadi, to investigate allegations levelled against the duo arrived at the decision after reviewing exhibits tendered by members of the State House of Assembly, who are the complainants. The governor and his deputy neither attended the three hearings nor did they send a representative.

Perhaps in an attempt to preempt the outcome of the committee’s report, the governor had approached the court to file an appeal. A source privy to this confided in The ELITES that “Governor Nyako knew from the onset that the committee working in tandem with the House, had a predetermined outcome which is to indict the governor to pave the way for his impeachment.
Last Thursday, the House met and passed a resolution, by Friday, the same judge constituted the panel, this is definitely more than meets the eye.

Apparently, Nyako did not read the script very well. Politics is a game, and Nyako, given his wealth of experience as a military tactician, where he rose to become an Admiral and Chief of Naval Staff, when most, if not all the members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, including President Goodluck Jonathan were still in their diapers or walking shoelessly in the village, he ought to know how the game of politics is played.

The melodrama reached a crescendo with the resignation of the deputy governor who is supposed to step in as Nyako finally get the boots! This has made choreographer find it difficult to organise a specific dance for this ordoriferous and malapropos dance drama. Now that both the Nyako and his Deputy have been swept away, the Speaker is expected to step in, in an acting capacity as governor for three months, after which an election shall be conducted.

GOV FASHOLA ENDORSES HAMZAT AS SUCCESSOR!

EARLY in the week, the leadership of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reportedly held a crucial meeting where several issues, including who succeeds the outgoing governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola in 2015, was tactically debated.

From the grapevine, it became obvious that the ambitions of the former Lagos State Accountant-General, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and the incumbent Commissioner for Works, Mr. Obafemi Hamzat, to succeeds Fashola may pitch the governor against his predecessor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the duo are showing interest in different directions.

Ambode, who is assumed to be receiving the blessing of Tinubu, is allegedly the least choice of Fashola whom Tinubu, against numerous odds and opposition, singlehandedly installed in 2007 as the governor of the state.

The outgoing governor is rather throwing his weight behind Hamzat, to succeed him, according to one of the leaders at the meeting.

The source described the matter as a subtle crossroads “the party must carefully address; otherwise, it is

capable of scuttling the chances of the APC in 2015.”

Feelers from the meeting point to the fact that the APC would not face one, but three major challenges in arriving at who will succeed Fashola in 2015.

First, one of the two gladiators (Tinubu/Fashola) would have to shelve his pride and abide by the dictate of the other.

Secondly, the party would also have to carefully address and take into consideration the ambition of other determined aspirants and stakeholders, who are jostling for the seat of power in 2015. Some of them are poised to play the spoiler, “if that becomes necessary,” the source said.

Thirdly, it would be in the interest of the APC not to overlook the ripple effect of the outcome of the recent Ekiti State governorship election on other Southwest states which the party control.

“This is particular so in Lagos, where citizens are perceived to be getting weary over some of the policies of Governor Fashola, which, they claim, are too draconian and unfriendly to the common man on the street.”

According to findings, tens of thousands of ordinary Lagosians, including artisans, commercial bus and motorcycles drivers and traders “are no longer in terms with the APC.”

Coming to the brass tack, the debate over indigeneship, religion and capacity remain the three major factors that are clear to determine the next governor of the state.

One of the party member said: “These are not what the leadership of the APC could easily overlook.

Otherwise, there may be the repeat of what happened in 1991, when the governorship candidate of the National Republican Convention (NRC), the late Sir Michael Otedola, took advantage of the disagreement between the candidates of the popular Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr. Femi Agbalajobi and Chief Dapo Sarumi, to emerge the governor.”

Presently, the Christian community in Lagos is deaf to any arrangement other than that Fashola’s successor in 2015 must be a Christian whatever the party platform such may come from.

The Christians hold that it is enough of Muslims ruling in a state where the percentage of members of the two religions is almost the same.

They posit that Tinubu, who became the governor in 1999 and served for two terms, is a Muslim, and his successor, Fashola, who will complete his second term in 2015, is also a Muslim.

Both men have enjoyed maximum and unrelenting supports from the Christian community throughout their tenure.

But while the public is being made to believe that it was the Christian community, particularly the Lagos State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), is the brain behind the idea, “the fact is the debate over a Christian governor started within the party itself by some disgruntled members who felt that Christians were being sidelined,” another source said.

According to source: “Zoning and religion have become the politics of the day in Nigeria and here in Lagos, every citizen in the country are represented.

“It was a subtle agitation that started within the party, sold to the Christian community and it is not what the party could over look.”

Explaining how the issue of religion is most likely to affect the chances of Ambode and Hamzat, the source said that the first aim and objective of any political party is to win election.

“No matter how perfect your policies and programmes may be, it is only when you are in government they could be implemented,” the source said, stressing, “it is, therefore, imperative for the party to give this issue serious consideration.”

The source continued: “There is no doubt about the capability of Hamzat to succeed Fashola as governor; likewise Ambode. They were both intellectually sound and have all that it takes to go for the job.

“However, politics, in the Nigerian context, and the way it is being played currently, goes beyond looking at capability. Capability must be combined with acceptability.

“Moreover, at this point, Fashola cannot determine for the leadership of the party who will replace him in office, in a situation where we are still battling to correct some of the negative impressions his policies have rubbed on the citizens.”

The source said the Muslim community itself has not, at any point in time since the debate started, come out to dismiss the demand that Fashola’s successor must be a Christian.

“While the leadership of the party, from the side of Tinubu, is considering acceptability and capability in line with the dynamics of Nigeria’s politics of present, the other camp may be naïve, which if not carefully managed, could cost the party its chances of retaining control of the state in 2015,” the source said.

Another respondent, noted that as a matter of fact, whosoever the APC would present for the 2015 governorship poll must not be seen from the perceived pride and aloofness of the outgoing governor, whose policies have been branded too elitist and anti-masses.

“The APC needed a radical departure from what we have at present to what will combine the interest of the masses and the people,” the source said.

The indigeneship of both aspirants have been disputed from various quarters since their aspirations were made known through their channels.

Fashola’s go-ahead to Hamzat

WHEN it became clear to some stakeholders in the party, about a year ago, that Governor Fashola may likely support Hamzat as his successor in office, agitation started right from the Lagos East, where the party eventually zoned the governorship slot this time, that he (Hamzat) is neither from Epe Division nor an indigene of Lagos State.

Reference was quickly made to the fact that his father is a traditional ruler in one of the towns in Ogun State. Indeed, The Guardian reliably gathered that some of the members of the party, who would not, for whatever reason, confront Tinubu, summoned the courage to tell him (Tinubu) that the governor could not determine who succeeds him; “otherwise, we would damn the consequence.”

But despite all odds that are against the aspiration of Hamzat within and without the party, it is being alleged that Fashola remains obstinate on using him with the determination to call the bluff of Tinubu and his camp.

Reliable sources said that the governor has already given directives to the Works Commissioner to start underground mobilisation from all local governments, pending when final mobilisation would start.

But one of those in Tinubu’s camp said if the governor insisted and refused to bend to the dictates of the party, “members of the State House of Assembly may be instigated to commence impeachment process against him.”

“We might witness the repeat of what happened between the State Assembly and Fashola in 2011 when a group, called True Face of Lagos, surfaced,” the source said.

To an extent, both Tinubu and his successor in office are yet to make any open statement on who they intend to support as governor in 2015, but their body language has said it all.

During a book launch in honour of Mr. Ambode at the Civic Centre, Lagos in May, the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, endorsed Ambode as the one to succeed Fashola.

While he endorsed Ambode, Akiolu, a first class traditional ruler with a concrete security background, and who is not used to making frivolous statements publicly, expressed strong opposition to the ambition of Hamzat, whose father, he said, “is a traditional ruler in Ewekoro, Ogun State (wanting) to become the Governor of Lagos State.”

In the presence of many traditional rulers in Lagos, the monarch disclosed that the royal fathers in the state “have consulted widely with the sons and daughters of Lagos and upon the consultation, royal fathers have come to the conclusion that the best person to take over from Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) is Akinwunmi Ambode.”

“You people know me well — that I do not hide my feelings on where I stand on issues,” he stressed.

Oba Akiolu added that Lagos couldn’t have a man like Ambode and allows somebody, whose father is an Oba in Ewekoro, Ogun State, to become the governor of Lagos.

Although wild reactions followed the monarch’s statement, neither Tinubu, the state chairman of the party, Chief Henry Ajomale nor any other leaders of the party either from the state or national level have altered any contradictory statement to what Akiolu said.

In his statement on Ambode, Akiolu dismissed as rubbish and unfounded the insinuations that he (Ambode) is not an indigene of Lagos.

One of the aides to Tinubu, who did not want his name in print, disclosed that when the matter of Ambode’s citizenship of Lagos was tabled, “Tinubu simply asked who is a true Lagos indigene? We all know where we came from and that is not an issue.”

The aide said that his boss (Tinubu), has reached out to other aspirants like Senator Gbenga Ashafa; former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Leke Pitan; former Commissioner for Special Duty, Dr. Tola Kasali and the Speaker House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the need to drop their governorship ambition.

It is not clear if the party has reached any truce with Senator Ganiyu Solomon, who is another aspirant that has expressed determination to exercise his right to contest for the governorship.

Solomon, a former council chairman, had said several times that his position was that the party should organise a free, fair and credible primary election for all the aspirants to test their popularity.

Whatever the internal wrangling may be in the party, it would not be to the best interest of any of the APC members to allow Lagos slip into the hands of the opposition, as that may be the beginning of the end and extinction of the party’s relevance in the Southwest.

What recommends Ambode to Tinubu, stakeholders

TAKING a critical look at his profile, Akinwunmi Ambode is an Accountant, an Administrator and a Public Finance Management expert.

He joined the Lagos State Waste Disposal Board in 1985, from where he moved to the Local Government Service in 1987, serving for 10 years.

He was, at various times, Council Treasurer in Alimosho, Shomolu, Mushin and Ajeromi-Ifelodun local government councils.

He later attained the position of Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Finance, and organised the first-ever National Tax Retreat in Nigeria in conjunction with Joint Tax Board/Federal Inland Revenue Services in 2005.

He was Chairman of the Technical Committee that produced the Lagos State Economic Empowerment Development Strategy (SEEDS) document.

He led the audit teams as the Auditor General for Local Government to clear and publish the arrears of statutory audits of 1995 to 2004 within 12 months.

He also led the Implementation Team on the restructured wages and salaries payment system for over 3,000 staff of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).

On record as the youngest person ever appointed as Auditor General in Lagos State at the age of 37, Ambode revolutionised the Lagos State Treasury Office and got the state budget performing at a remarkable 85 per cent annually.

He was also the first-ever Permanent Secretary in the state to retire voluntarily.

FULL RESULTS: DISGRACEFUL LOSS FOR FAYEMI IN EKITI!

The official election result sheet below shows a shocking analysis, the incumbent gentleman, Gov Fayemi, lost on all fronts. This shows a complete disconnect with the electorate. The foot soldiers of Gov Elect, Ayo Fayose, equally expressed a mystifying shock at the run-away success. The word on the street was that Gov Fayemi was busy building good roads while he forgot to build a road to the peoples stomach! Glaringly, the well certificated people of Ekiti, seem tired of pounded yam and now prefers fluffy rice in jollof, coconut and fried savoury flavors! No pun intended.

Have a glimpse of the full results below for your records and digest.

VIOLENCE AT APC CONVENTION!

Violence erupted yesterday at the secretariat of the Convention Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abuja.

Two APC members were beaten up by some delegates of the party from Abia and Ebonyi states while policemen looked on. One of them who was labeled as “Ngige boy” was stripped naked near the secretariat along Emeka Anyaoku Street, Area 11 Abuja.

Investigations by Vanguard revealed that the fighting erupted between delegates of different factions of the party from Abia and Ebonyi States. Some of the aggrieved delegates from both states who spoke to Vanguard alleged that although they were democratically elected as delegates for the party’s convention, they had been denied accreditation by the Convention Committee headed by Sokoto State Governor Alhaji Aliyu Wammako with Senator Chris Ngige as secretary.

LAGOS GOV ASPIRANTS SHOULD *SEMPE* - OBA AKIOLU!

The race to Alausa on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2015 poll took an interesting dimension on Thursday, as the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Osuolale Akiolu, openly endorsed the candidature of former Accountant-General, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, declaring that he (Ambode) was the choice of God, his and elders in the state as the next Lagos State governor.

The first class traditional ruler, who made it clear that he was fearless and quite bold, gave the endorsement at a book launch in honour of the APC governorship candidate, which took place at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event was attended by Dr Arthur Warrey, who represented the national leader of APC, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr (Mrs) Idiat Oluwaranti Adegbure, who represented Governor Babatunde Fashola; Dr Yemi Osibajo, Senator Fashinro, Alhaji Akeem Seriki (Bamu), Mr Ayo Opadokun; traditional rulers, including Oba Adewale Bakare Elegunshi, the Alara of Ilara, Oba Hakeem Adesanya, among others.

Speaking at the event, Akiolu, who noted that only God chooses leaders and that the APC would still hold its governorship primaries, however, vowed that no non-indigene, no matter how highly placed, would rule over him as governor of Lagos.

“For me, Osuolale Aremu, a son of an Ewekoro traditional ruler, will not come and become a governor where I am. I am not afraid to say that and I don’t hide my feelings,” he vowed.

This is just as he debunked the rumour doing the rounds that Ambode was not from Epe in Lagos but Ilaje in Ondo State, declaring that the APC governorship aspirant was not an Ilaje but a true Lagosian.

Speaking on the occasion, the APC National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, lauded Ambode for what he described as his financial wizardry put into use during the time the funds of Lagos was seized by the Federal Government, saying it was about good and accountable leadership.

Tinubu also said it was about sacrificing one’s comforts for the growth and development of the state.

The monarch spoke extempore and text of his speech reads: “Only God chooses leaders. You will still go for your party primaries to pick your candidate, but what God and elders say must be held sacrosanct. When you see a weedling dancing on water, what is making it do so is underneath. I have not been found often coming out to speak outside, it is an Oba that we crown not age.

YOU ARE A STUPID GOV - DEPUTY BATTLES GOV AJIMOBI!

You think I don’t know what is going on between you and that woman (Ogunesan)? You have desecrated the office of the governor by sleeping with all sorts of women. I have been very loyal to you despite your ill treatment towards me. What else do you want? How else do you want me to please you? I can even resign right now. What am I getting from being your deputy apart from insult?

‪#‎Gov‬ Ajimobi, Deputy Fight Dirty in Office Deputy writes resignation letter#
================
•Deputy to Ajimobi: “What kind of stupid governor are you?”
================
•Ajimobi to Deputy: “You are threatening me in my office.”
================
•“This is a public office and we’ll leave here someday,” Dep. replies
================
An action movie was shot in the office of the governor of Oyo State, on Tuesday, as Governor Ajimobi and his deputy, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, almost physically attacked each other.

It took the intervention of the security personnel attached to the two public figures to prevent a mortal combat provoked by Governor Ajimobi.

Before the near fisticuff was halted by the security officials, there were hot exchanges between the governor and his fiercely loyal but worthlessly treated deputy who is from Oke Ogun Area of the state.
The dirty linen of the governor’s unsavoury amorous deals and enrichment was washed publicly in the office while the skirmish lasted.

‪#‎Reason‬ They Brawl#
The brawl was fallout of the congress of the APC held in the state recently and shunned by almost all the National Assembly members of the party from the state.

The Deputy Governor’s mother is from Saki East LG where he built his house and where he retires each time he leaves Ibadan. His father is from either Atisbo or Oorelope LG. So, he is naturally the leader in those councils.

But rather than empower his deputy, Ajimobi subordinated him to one Mrs Hannah Olawunmi Ogunesan, a junior civil servant, who was promoted to the rank of a top shot in the service by Ajimobi, on account of his amorous relationship with the woman.

The severally humiliated deputy was forced to sit down with Ogunesan’s group to reach a consensus on the list of party officers in the two council areas and the agreement was struck in an atmosphere of peace.
But with the support of her concubine, Ogunesan removed all the nominees of the Deputy Governor from the consensus lists and the action was sheepishly and swiftly endorsed by Governor Ajimobi.

NEWSLEAK was reliably exclusively informed that an embittered Alake Adeyemo went into the congress humiliated but yet demonstrated a high sense of maturity.

But unable to stomach the indignation meted to him by Ajimobi from the comfort of Delilah’s laps, the Deputy Governor had to open up to the committee set up to address complaints arising from the congress and alleged foul play in his council areas.

Irked that the Deputy had the guts to complain, Ogunesan had to go to Governor Ajimobi to make a report.
As usual, the governor summoned his Deputy to his office with his Delilah and others seated. Sensing that the discussion might erupt into a volcano, Governor Ajimobi asked all but his deputy to remain.

The hot and loud conversation between them, exclusively got by NEWSLEAK, went thus:

Ajimobi: Do you realise you don’t have any power in this office?

Deputy: I have every right as you do. The Constitution recognizes me as the deputy governor. You are nobody without me because we were both elected on a joint ticket.

Ajimobi: So, you are threatening me in my office?

Deputy: This is not your office; it is a public office and we will leave someday.

Ajimobi: Get out of my office
Deputy (rose on his feet): I am not going anywhere. What kind of stupid governor are you?

You think I don’t know what is going on between you and that woman (Ogunesan)? You have desecrated the office of the governor by sleeping with all sorts of women. I have been very loyal to you despite your ill treatment towards me. What else do you want? How else do you want me to please you? I can even resign right now. What am I getting from being your deputy apart from insult?

When the security officials rushed into the Governor’s office, the two public figures were seen almost at each other’s jugular and were quickly separated by the security personnel.

An eye witness confided in NEWSLEAK that the deputy governor, whose son got married on Friday, left Ajimobi’s office, pregnant with fury, and banged the door.

On getting to his office, he wrote his resignation letter, a copy of which NEWSLEAK made several unsuccessful attempts to get. It took the intervention of top government functionaries to prevail on Chief Adeyemo from submitting the letter.

Having realized he goofed, Governor Ajimobi left his office and went to his deputy’s saying, “You are not known to get angry” and apologized to him.

He also ordered the caretaker chairman of Saki East LG to ensure that he further placates his deputy governor and ensure he is happy through and during the wedding.

A further mitigative measure, NEWSLEAK was informed, was the travel of First Lady, Florence Ajimobi, on Thursday to Ogbomosho, venue of the Deputy Governor’s wedding, where she intends to sleep throughout the weekend.

It will be recalled that last year when one of the children of the deputy got married in Ibadan, Mrs Ajimobi never attended the event but stayed in the Government House, though her husband did attend.

LAGOS COMMISSIONER TURNS MIKE TYSON - BATTERS FELLOW POLITICIAN!

SHOW OF SHAME: It is no surprise because only a street smart quasi thug can be appointed a Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. The commissioner ought to be reported to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee for bringing the legal profession into disrepute.Gov Fashola should look into this without delay.

Lagos Commissioner, Ademorin Kuye Fights In Public, Beats Up Fellow Politician

Abdullahi in Torn Outfit After Upper-cut Mike Tyson blows

On Friday 4th of April 2014, Barrister Ademorin Aliu Kuye, the Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair, turned a political meeting into a boxing arena. He descended on a fellow politician, Honourable Olugbenga Hakeem Abdullahi (aka Naa Gbenga), and landed him some blows in the face.

Abdullahi’s crime ?He had dared to challenge Kuye’s rationale for moving a motion for the imposition of candidates instead of going through the due process of proper screening.

The political meeting which took place at the Somolu Local Government Banquet Hall, had in attendance, several respected leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, such as Senator Anthony Adefuye. It was in the presence of this revered politician that Kuye was alleged to have displayed his Muhammed Ali's boxing skills.

According to eyewitness’ account, Kuye, who is a former Chairperson of Somolu Local Government Council, was attempting to impose it upon the gathering to support his motion that candidates for the forthcoming Ward Congress should be exempted from screening.

Evidently, Kuye’s motion didn’t go well with the other politicians and they voiced out their opinion. This was said to have drawn Kuye’s extreme anger. Abdullahi, who was sitting close to Kuye, had attempted to caution him on the implication of his motion on the party, when he (Kuye) turned to him and landed him a couple of blows on his bespectacled face.

Abdullahi, 57, who was totally taken aware by the attack was said to have fallen flat on his back. In the ensuing melee, some of Kuye’s thugs, who were lurking around, stormed the meeting venue and dealt Abdullahi more blows. Needless to say the meeting came to an abrupt end, as everyone scampered off to safety. Some of Kuye’s thugs who stormed the venue were identified as Yesuru and Benson. Yesuru is described as a very notorious thug, and was recently declared wanted by the police in Somolu.

Interestingly, Kuye, who flaunts a Post-Graduate Diploma in Theology from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, is described as a very violent politician. Four years ago, he was alleged to have beaten a former party colleague, the late Tunde Babalola into a state ofComa. Also, several cases of Kuye invading political meetings with his thugs abound within his Constituency.

Meanwhile, Kuye’s victim, Abdullahi, who is nursing a swollen face and some cuts on his face, has vowed to seek for justice. In his quest to see that Kuye is brought to book, Abdullahi, together with some party leaders in Somolu, had reported the assault to Alade Police Station, Somolu. Also, the aggrieved politician has also filed a petition to the Panti Police Station and plans to send the petition to the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other APC leaders. PRESIDENT JONATHAN GETS JUDICIAL IMPETUS!

The Federal High Court in
Kaduna on Monday struck out a
suit challenging the eligibility of
President Goodluck Jonathan to
contest the 2015 general election.
The suit, instituted by Shuaibu
Lili and one other, had sought a
declaration barring the president
from contesting the 2015
presidential election.

Counsel to the plaintiffs,
Mohammed Ibrahim, had argued
that Jonathan haven been sworn
twice into office as president has
no constitutional right to contest
for the post again.

He cited Sections 145, 142 and
146 of the Constitution which
limits the tenure of the president
and governors to a maximum of
eight years.

The plaintiffs had also sought for
an order to restrain the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP), joined as
defendant, from fielding
Jonathan as its presidential
candidate in 2015.

In her ruling Justice Evlyn Enya-
Dike, said the plaintiffs had
failed to convince the court in all
the prayers they sought, and
struck out the case.

She said that Jonathan was yet to
obtain or declared formally his
intention to contest, adding that
the suit was “at best hypothetical,
preemptive, speculative and
mere conjunctures’’.

Enya-Dike also said that Section
308 of the Constitution insulated
the President from civil and
criminal actions until he vacates
office, adding that the plaintiffs
also lacked locus-standi to
institute the case.

“The plaintiffs,’’ she said, “had
failed to show that they would
suffer any special damage more
than any member of the public if
the president contests in 2015.’’

The judge, however, did not
make any declaration on whether
the suit was an abuse of court
process.

Enya-Dike, however, dismissed
the case without any cost.

Reacting to the judgement,
counsels to Jonathan and PDP, Mr
Nnamdi Ekwem, expressed
satisfaction with the court’s
decision.

On his part, Ibrahim said they
would appeal the ruling,
contending that there were many
flaws in the judgment.

This is TKO Aluko and Fayose's last criminal effort to destroy the PDP and we must all rise against this.

It is also bcos of this crooked means that Fayose is insisting on Primary while other aspirants have agreed on consensus.

They want to go to court to stop the consensus arrangement.

Fayose and TKO Aluko shuld leave PDP alone and let them go and contest d governorship under their own party if they are so sure of their popularity.

Ekiti PDP leaders, pls, act now! Tell Fayose these APC agents to leave PDP alone!

SENATOR GANIYU SOLOMON REBRANDS FOR LAGOS 2015!

Well, some are saying he is a pretender to the throne, but in politics, never underestimate anyone, there is always something to be gained in political braggadocio! Read on.

The popular saying that a leopard cannot change its spot seems to have been proved wrong by Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon.

Senator Solomon had been described in the past as one who is not too friendly as expected of a politician of his caliber. Some even blame his not too friendly nature on peer influences he had while in Mushin area of Lagos.

However, in recent times, the man seems to have changed his ways. He was a guest at a social gathering which held in Victoria Island, Lagos State recently and surprisingly he was accommodating as he was been ushered into the venue of the event amid fanfare.

Months back, such ushering would either have generated a stern look from the Senator or a harsh remark.

MYSTERY "OBAMA BILLIONAIRE" SET TO DUPE ASIWAJU TINUBU, APC!

APC Insiders Insist "Mystery Billionaire" Ladi Delano Is Out To Dupe Tinubu...Claims to have strategised Obama's US Election Victory

Mystery "billionaire", Ladi Delano claims Obama victory to woo Tinubu in an obvious bid to secure political campaign contracts from a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Self professed billionaire, Ladi Delano has claimed to have been a major player in strategising President Barack Obama's victory in the American presidential elections.Delano who acquired his wealth trading in goods including liquor and by subsequently putting his company up for sale, reports say, was introduced to Tinubu while the frontline politician recently underwent treatment for his knee injury in the United States of America.

The young businessman, who has been paying frequent visits to Asiwaju's Victoria Island office, asserted that he was a key player in the team that delivered the technological strategy to win votes for Obama during the last elections. However, Delano's claim has elicited strong disapproval amongst APC faithfuls who have described it as a crude lie concocted to make money and a disingenuous business pitch that could undermine the reputation of the party.

"Quite frankly the young man, Delano, is just an impostor. I hope the inner circle of Asiwaju would quickly sift through this crude lie and nip Delano's disingenuous business pitch in the bud. This wrong message must be prevented from spreading across as it could undermine the growing reputation of the APC and embarrass the stature of Asiwaju as it happened in the past on the alleged invitation from Obama to Asiwaju to attend Obama's presidential inauguration.

I can say as a matter of fact that Delano has never moved close to Obama not to talk of him delivering a crucial part of Obama's electoral success; and his known business interests have no link with any digital services", an anonymous APC official said.

We are still digging and Metronews readers can be assured that we will soon uncover who Ladi Delano is.

NEW APC EMERGES!!

In what look like a common denominator between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC), the APC has joined the ruling party in having their own version of new APC in Kwara State over irreconcilable indifferences. In a press release signed by Rev. Bunmi Olusona, Interim State Chairman, Kwara APC titled ‘We hail the emergence of ‘New APC’ (nAPC)’, and made available to elombah.com, the Kwara State Chapter expressed their support for the Dele Belgore leadership of the state APC and said:

“Members of the Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC wish to congratulate Mohammed Dele Belgore, (SAN) of Kwara State, former Governors Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano, Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto, M. Buba Marwa of Adamawa and other leaders across Nigeria for their wisdom in coming up with the idea of launching nAPC soon.

This patriot action by founding fathers of APC will without doubt salvage our great party from imminent implosion. We hail these leaders who have resolved not to allow the ship of this Party to capsize. They deserve to be encouraged and appreciated.

We also want to specially congratulate our very own, Mohammed Dele Belgore SAN, for his resilience and steadfastness on the Kwara rescue project. We are convinced that he still symbolizes the change Kwarans seek.

Premised on the strength of this powerful initiative, our appeal goes to our teeming supporters not to get stampeded into leaving the party. The State Interim Exco. will soon embark on a tour of our local chapters beginning from February 5th, to educate and sensitize them on how to move the party forward. We also warn our members not to participate in any membership registration exercise organized and supervised Gov. Fatai Ahmed led Government or that of their agents like Alh. Lai Mohammed. We rely on the promise of our National Vice Chairman (North Central) to organism a rancor free but all inclusive membership registration exercise in Kwara.

We share and hold on to this wise old saying that ‘after a long spell of darkness comes the light of hope’ we therefore appeal to our members to share in our optimism while they also remain steadfast within the party as we seek avenues for a peaceful, but reasonable resolution built on justice and fairness. Up till now, we have not lost hope that our party can be salvaged. We have this implicit confidence in the ability of the leaders of the APC to retrace their steps. No man has power to exercise any form of authority on another without his express consent.

Nigerians today are asking core but fundamental questions about the Nigerian political system. Are our political parties any more ideological? Who are the true progressives?
The twin questions on the lips of our members today are, a) what is progressive about our APC when the party is now peopled by the very enemies of this country! Is the APC truly different from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any other political party in Nigeria for that matter? As it is now, the only difference is that they are the same!

Secondly, how morally correct is it for the new entrants to control both the ‘Government’ and the ‘Party’?

As principled politicians, until our leaders correct these errors, setting up several committees by whatever appellation will not resolve the crises, It does not matter wether membership of such committees are drawn from another planet other than the one led by Chief John Oyegun of Edo State.

For the umpteenth time, we reiterate that any arrangement that cedes the structure of Kwara APC in favour of the new entrants will lead to the defeat and humiliation of the party come 2015. Any assumed peace predicated on injustice will breed tsunami like crises. Should the APC be allowed to implode on the alter of this so called political expedience, hope of millions of Nigerians would suffer.

Alh. Lying Mohammed does not represent Kwara APC, he has no electoral value here. Kwara people attach no importance to his press statements, here, he represents himself and a handful of people looking for political appointment from Gov. Fatai Ahmed and his boss.

No one can be hiding somewhere in Lagos, deceiving Nigerians with press statements that does not reflect the actual state of affairs.

Kwara is one of the most backward State in Nigeria today, has he said anything about the state of affairs here in 8 years? What did he say about the day light electoral robbery at the Offa LG re-run ? How many protests did he or his hangers-on participate in? When hundreds were sacrificed during the induced annual sallah stampede at Senator Saraki’s house, rather than say anything, he looked the other way and discovered a Catholic Church stampede in far away Anambra State.

What has he said about poor Nigerians who lost all their meager savings in Societe Generale Bank, and Kwara State owned Trade Bank. What of Intercontinental Bank Plc, where 21billon naira loan guaranteed by Kwarans was diverted for private business of his new boss. Nigerians are watching. We implore him to come to Oro and hold political meeting with just 20 people who are citizens of that community.

We make boast to say that we are the largest political family in Kwara of today, by the grace of God, wherever we move to, the pendulum swings in that direction.

Awi funi ko to dani, baba ijakadi. Eni awifun, Oba je o gbo. Abo oro lanso f’omo luabi, to ba de inu e, yio di odindi.

Rev. Bunmi Olusona
Interim State Chairman,
Kwara APC
