NIGEL FARAGE RESIGNS!

Says Nigel:

I have decided to stand aside as Leader of UKIP. The victory for the 'Leave' side in the referendum means that my political ambition has been achieved. I came into this struggle from business because I wanted us to be a self-governing nation, not to become a career politician.

UKIP is in a good position and will continue, with my full support to attract a significant vote. Whilst we will now leave the European Union the terms of our withdrawal are unclear. If there is too much backsliding by the Government and with the Labour Party detached from many of its voters then UKIP's best days may be yet to come.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you the membership for your extraordinary support and generosity over the many years, I could not have done it without you.

A Nigerian kidney transplant patient has secured the right to remain in Britain after arguing she would die within weeks if deported to her home country.

Roseline Akhalu, 49, came to Britain to study at Leeds University in 2004 but was diagnosed with kidney failure after her arrival.

She received a successful kidney transplant in 2009 but needs immunosuppressant drugs to keep her alive, along with regular medical checks.

The government refused her permission to stay, but she won an appeal in November. Home secretary Theresa May took further legal action against that ruling, arguing her medical care should be Nigeria's responsibility.

The High Court on Friday upheld the previous tribunal's decision that she should be allowed to stay because of her "exceptional" circumstances.

Akhalu's Leeds community rallied round to campaign for her to be allowed to stay, and Hollywood star Firth added his voice last year, saying: "Our home secretary has effectively condemned an innocent woman to death."

Akhalu, represented in court by Public Interest Lawyers, argued she had no chance of being able to afford the drugs she needs in Nigeria.

Following Friday's judgement, Akhalu said: "Thank you everybody for the support, for the prayers, for the publicity, for everything.

"Hopefully the UK Border Agency will let matters rest at this stage."

The Home Office said it was considering whether to seek permission to appeal the High Court's decision.

UK SET TO DEPORT SEXUAL PREDATOR TO NIGERIA!

A rapist who claimed deporting him would breach his human rights will be sent home to Nigeria after losing an appeal against the order.

Mr Justice Blake said the public interest in getting "dangerous sexual predator" Ekene Anoliefo, 38, out of the country far outweighed his right to respect for his private life.

Anoliefo was jailed for 12 years, later reduced to nine, in May 2009 after he was convicted of the brutal rape of a 19-year-old, who he held captive in his car after pretending to help her.

The Nigerian computing student drove the young woman to his Aberdeen flat, forced her onto a bed and raped her in what the sentencing judge described as "particularly brutal and degrading" circumstances.

He was ordered for deportation last December and now, after an appeal to the Upper Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum Chamber, has failed in his human rights bid to be allowed to stay.

 .
"It is obvious that, where a claimant has been convicted of rape and the conviction upheld on appeal, no properly self-directing judge could have done other than to have dismissed the appeal on the basis that the public interest manifestly outweighed it.

UK ISSUES FINAL WARNING TO NIGERIANS and OTHERS

Large adverts carrying the warning "Go home or face arrest" are being driven around six London boroughs this week in a new Home Office pilot scheme to encourage illegal migrants to leave Britain.
The advertising vans will also show residents how many illegal migrants have recently been arrested in their local area and carry a text number for overstayers to use to arrange their return home.

The adverts say: "In the UK illegally? Go home or face arrest. Text HOME to 78070 for free advice, and help with travel documents. We can help you to return home voluntarily without fear of arrest or detention."
The campaign is to be backed up by leaflets, posters and messages in local newspapers. The six boroughs being targeted are Hounslow, Barking and Dagenham, Ealing, Barnet, Brent and Redbridge.
They were chosen because they have either significantly higher or below average numbers of voluntary returns, so that the success of the pilot scheme can be assessed.
More than 28,000 illegal migrants went home voluntarily last year. The immigration minister, Mark Harper, said: "We are making it more difficult for people to live and work in the UK illegally. But there is an alternative to being led away in handcuffs. Help and advice can be provided to those who co-operate and return home voluntarily."
He said the pilot scheme was part of a package of immigration reforms being introduced this year, including restricting migrants' access to benefits and services.

JONATHAN SIGNS AUTOMATIC DEPORTATION OF NIGERIANS FROM UK!

Our take on this issue is that, do not blame the Nigerian President. There is no short-cut to success as my wonderful Dad always say. We posit that every Nigerian, wherever you find yourself, please strive to be law abiding. Although this is absolutely impossible because out of every 12, there must be a Judas. That seems to be the only way out because it is absolutely imperative for States to make Laws in their own best interest.

President Goodluck Jonathan signed the bill to facilitate the exchange of prisoners between Nigeria and the United Kingdom without the consent of the prisoner after the bill waited for 15 months.

As at August 2012, 571 Nigerians were serving various jail terms in the UK prisons, 350 of these are eligible for without consent, return, and the eligibility is determined by the seriousness of the offence for which a person has been jailed and the amount of time he has left on his sentence.

Fending for the prisoners is said to be gulping a huge amount of British taxpayers' money which made Britain to approach Nigeria for a review of the old law which Nigerians in British jails exploited to stay in the UK where the jails are considered more conducive.

To ensure that the repatriated prisoners continue their sentences in prisons in Nigeria that meet minimum standards, Britain, last year, committed over £1 million to upgrade some Nigerian prisons and constructed an extra wing in Kirikiri prisons in Lagos alongside the construction of a guard tower.

He clarified that the bill did not see to repatriate prisoners for minor offences such as failure to pay parking ticket fines.
