15/03 Fairview SA Racing Tips & Analysis

Tuesday, 15 March
FAIRVIEW

Race 1
Race Summary: Wide-open race to start. LADONNA MIA and BOLD LEAH have both the form and experience to be competitive over a course and distance that suits. MAGIC TO THE FORE and ROYAL WELCOME have run well on the Polytrack and are capable of better reverting to this surface after disappointing on the turf last time. TEMPLE BAR showed pace over further in her only start at this track before tiring late. On that evidence, the drop to this trip should suit despite her wide No 12 draw. SOCIAL SPIRIT was drawn wide when a good 3rd on her local debut over track and trip so could represent value.

Selections:
#6 Social Spirit, #9 Bold Leah, #1 Ladonna Mia, #3 Temple Bar

Race 2
Race Summary: KNAVE OF DIAMONDS made his debut on the Highveld and raced in a 3yo feature as a maiden before finishing an improved 3rd on his local/track debut over 1000m and, on pedigree, should make further improvement over the extra 200m - contender. TRUMPS EXPRESS has been costly to follow but is likely to pose a threat and wouldn't be winning out of turn. He was disappointing on the turf last time but could well make amends back on the Poly. NOTORIX and DAWN RAIDER, if taking his place, should make their presence felt too. CASHING IN, ACT OF THUNDER and KING OF LUV are others who could play a role.

Selections:
#10 Knave Of Diamonds, #5 Trumps Express, #1 Notorix, #3 Dawn Raider

Race 3
Race Summary: Tricky. JACKSONVILLE and POWER SURGE could have more to offer on this surface having relocated from the Cape and Highveld, respectively - respect any market support. BOY NAMED SUE, MR LINEBREAKER, SUPER FUN and LORD MARMITE disappointed on the turf last time out but are capable of better reverting to the Poly. CHAMPAGNESOCIALIST and ST PATRICK'S DAY returned to form when last seen and could have a say if building on that improvement. IRISH SEA could also get a look in.

Selections:
#4 Boy Named Sue, #6 Lord Marmite, #13 St Patrick's Day, #3 Super Fun

Race 4
Race Summary: Course-specialist DIAMONDS AND TOADS may have disappointed from a wide draw on the grass last time but is a different proposition on this surface so, from a good draw with 2.5kg off her back, should bounce back to form. TO THE MAX arrives from KZN in good knick and should, on the strength of her recent form, run a forward race on her local and track debut. SCARBOROUGH FAIR and ABIA are better than disappointing last-start efforts suggest and could make their presence felt if bouncing back to earlier form. ARION OF ADRAST, ALASKAN FATE and FORWARD MACRH are other who could have a say. Open.

Selections:
#5 To The Max, #1 Diamonds And Toads, #7 Abia, #4 Scarborough Fair

Race 5
Race Summary: Another tricky handicap. HOMER FIDGET boasts, arguably, the strongest and most consistent form on offer and runs well for jockey Fourie, so rates the one to beat despite an awkward draw. SILVER CELEBRITY has found form and consistency off a reduced rating and is capable of posing a threat from an inside gate. BALTIC BEAT is course-and-distance suited and likely to make his presence felt too if overcoming a wide draw under an in-form 2.5kg claimer. JASPERO is also poorly drawn but holding form and, as such, capable of having a say with luck in running. YOUNG NELSON and DOPPIO ORO have claims too.

Selections:
#2 Homer Fidget, #13 Silver Celebrity, #1 Baltic Beat, #3 Jaspero

Race 6
Race Summary: Track specialist MARMARA SEA has not been disgraced in tougher races on the turf recently and a return to his favoured surface should stand him in good stead. He's best treated by the conditions of the race and, as such, is hard to oppose despite top weight and a wide draw. Stablemates OSCAR WILDE and GRAZINGINTHEGRASS could give cheek, although preference is for the latter with Fourie aboard. Consistent mare ENCRYPTION and consistent duo of ALADO'S PRIDE and ZIG ZAG are also capable of staking a claim. ANCIENT TIMES and SEVEN PATRIOTS come next.

Selections:
#1 Marmara Sea, #4 Grazinginthegrass, #7 Encryption, #10 Alado's Pride

Race 7
Race Summary: Good race. EVIES FIRST was a facile last-start winner on the turf and remains equally adept on the all-weather surface, so rates the one to beat. WHAT A WINNER (2.5kg better off) is weighted to get closer so should make his presence felt under top weight. A bigger threat, however, could come from FREEDOM SEEKER who was a fluent winner on this surface in KZN four starts back and has run well in each of her three outings since relocating. VALETORIO and MAGIC BLAZE can have a say too.

Selections:
#2 Evies First, #6 Freedom Seeker, #1 What A Winner, #7 Valetorio

Race 8
Race Summary: PRINCESS OF WINTER boasts the most consistent form of these runners and deserves to be rewarded for it. She goes well on this surface and is distance suited, so rates the one to beat from an inside gate. FLAMING LASS showed signs of a return to form on the grass last time and should pose a threat if able to transfer that to the Poly. QUE COSAS needs to overcome a wide draw if she is to feature. SPARKLING FLAME is probably better over further but can't be discounted on local debut after switching stables. JUST THE WIND is also capable of making her presence felt.

Selections:
#8 Princess Of Winter, #1 Flaming Lass, #10 Just The Wind, #5 Que Cosas

Best Win: #1 MARMARA SEA
Best Value Bet:
Best Longshot: #6 SOCIAL SPIRIT
