Two 16-year-old boys were found stabbed in a street in Tottenham in the early hours of this morning, police said.

One of the teenagers is in a critical condition in hospital after being wounded during a large fight, a spokesman for the Met said.

Scotland Yard officers, including specialist firearms units, had been sent to the scene on Ruskin Road in north London at 12.30am after reports a fight was under way, and that gunshots had possibly been heard.

Police said the two victims were taken to an east London hospital, where one of the boys is in a stable condition, while the other is in a life-threatening condition.

Scotland Yard said four people had been arrested in connection with the incident.
