MAVERICK FAYOSE SPITS FIRE!

The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State worsened on Tuesday as the party announced the suspension of Ayo Fayose, a former governor in the state.

The Chairman of the party, Makanjuola Ogundipe, announced the suspension in Ado-Ekiti.

He said Mr. Fayose’s suspension followed the roles he allegedly played in the invasion of the state secretariat by hoodlums last week.

Also suspended with Mr. Fayose, he said, were the State Secretary of the party, Tope Aluko; State Women Leader, Busola Oyebode; as well as State Public Relations Officer, Kola Oluwole.

Mr. Ogundipe said investigations conducted by the party indicated that the suspended persons were connected to the crisis in the party.

The chairman denied allegations that he collected N5 million from an aspirant based in Abuja to help him emerge as the party’s consensus candidate. He said those suspended would appear before the party’s disciplinary committee at a date to be announced soon.

But reacting, Mr. Fayose described his suspension from the party as “outright cancellation of the entire PDP in Ekiti State.’’

“This is not only laughable but ignoble; suspending Fayose is like suspending PDP in Ekiti.

“It is the national leadership of PDP, not Ogundipe that can suspend Fayose who toiled to make the party occupy its present position as major opposition party in the state today.

“Fayose is an institution that cannot be excised from a party like PDP,” he said.

Governor Rotimi Chibuke Amaechi…You will fail in your attempt to pit Kalabari against Ikwere.

When Rotimi Chibuke Amaechi came to power through the instrumentality of Seven Supreme Court judges, who wickedly deprived the people of Rivers state of their constitutional right of choice, and surreptitiously imposed Chibuke Rotimi Amaechi on them- a man who didn’t solicit for their votes, and who they never voted for; no one was surprised as this travesty of justice and abuse of justice is only possible in this contraption called Nigeria.

Immediately Rotimi Amaechi assumed office, he declared war on the Okrika and Kalabari Ijaws, in his bid to rid Port Harcourt of Ijaw presence. His first anti-Ijaw affront was the demolition of the Waterfront Settlement. The Okrikas fought and kicked against it while we the Kalabari didn’t do any tangible thing to confront him, especially the Abonnema Wharf which from time immemorial, have been home to Kalabari people and the gate way to Bakana, old Bakana, Abonnema, Buguma etc

If Amaechi has gone gaga there must be elders in his community, amongst his hangers-on and praise-singers, to guide, enlighten and re-direct him – there is even a psychiatric home in nearby Rumu-Igbo that can cure Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi of his annoying dementia and bring him back to sanity.

This is not the time to seat on our beds and chatter like women, or seat on the fence. This is a call to show our humane Kalabariness and tell Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi that enough is enough! We must all come out and march to Abonnema Wharf with our Ikwere brothers and sisters, and pull down Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi’s wall of Jericho.

Akumafiete!

NIGERIAN GOVERNOR SACKS DRIVER FOR FARTING ON THE WHEELS!

GOVERNOR GODSWILL AKPABIO SACKS DRIVER FOR FARTING ON STEERING.....
The no-nonsense governor of Akwa Ibom state has fired one of his official drivers for farting while on the steering. Bu the penalized very senior driver is albeit still in the civil service of the state. Before the big hammer fell on him, he had severally been found guilty of being in the habit of farting while on board with the governor.

Society Reporters reliable source said that on many occasions the governor had warned the recalcitrant driver to wash his stomach by every means to save him from the daily embarrassment. And that in the past, he had been queried several times in connection with such issues, adding that all such actions, appeals and advice had always ended in futility.

It was therefore gathered that the uncivilized habit and the governor’s tolerance got blown over recently when the embattled driver messed up the air in the bullet proof G-class Mercedes Benz jeep the boss was moving around in with one of his visiting colleagues.

As a result of the said misdemeanor, the governor felt embarrassed and told his chief of staff to submit the drivers name for strict disciplinary actions. Instantly, we learnt, the governor who is gradually taking after the late political icon, Chief M.K.O Abiola, in terms of philanthropy and collection of awards and honors, had to break protocol, changed to one of the backup vehicles in his usual very long convoy and continued the journey of showing his colleague around the several projects sites that has made him to be labeled one of the best performing in the country where most of the governors are non-performers.

As you read this, relations and friends of the driver have been visiting the offices and homes of all those considered to have the governor’s ears to plead on his behalf. They have even gone as far as suggesting that “The Pilot” as the embattled driver is fondly addressed, should still be allowed to be at the government house even if he does not drive the governor any longer.

But some people are reading a bizarre meaning into the circumstances that befell the driver. Rather than seeing it as a medical condition that requires the adequate attention of the medics, they are attributing such level of stupidity to some spiritual manipulations. That his enemies and those who don’t wish him well are responsible for the misfortune.

LAGOS STANDS TALL FOR TINUBU'S MAMA, ABIBATU MOGAJI - 45 PICTURES INSET.

Lagos literally stood still, yesterday, as the President-General, Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, who died last Saturday aged 96, was buried at the Vaults and Garden Cemetery, Ikoyi, amidst eulogies.

Late Alhaja Mogaji was the mother of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State governor and national leader of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN. Tinubu, who recalled his mother’s last moments, said: “On Saturday afternoon, she had her lunch. After that, she took her drugs and rested.

“While resting, death came and snatched my mother away. Immediately she died, I felt her void. She taught everyone she came across contentment, love and the act of sharing, especially to the needy.

“I will miss her lunch even when I am full. I am very happy that she is my mother. She is a very successful mother and a good leader. She departed this world peacefully without taking us through pains.

“She is so kind and God was also kind to her. She is a good thinker and a compassionate person. She has left a very good legacy for everyone.

“She did something when I was the governor of Lagos State that really touched me and that was when she asked me to consider three women, who had challenges paying their children’s West African Examination Council, WAEC, fees.

“As a governor then, I began the policy of paying WAEC fee of pupils in Lagos State public schools. Those are the things that will fascinate anyone about my late mother.

“There are many lessons that women can learn from her. And one of the lessons is to be resilient, committed and industrious in order to help banish poverty in the country. She is a committed democrat.

“She believes in the one-man one-vote campaign. She will vote and mobilise others to do so. Women must also be committed to the education of their children, which is the antidote for poverty in the country. Once we come out of this, the nation will make progress.”

At 8:00am, the Alausa residence of Mogaji became a beehive of activities, as hundreds of party loyalists, relatives and friends to her children thronged her premises to honour her.

Roll call

Some of the dignitaries at the various events that led to the burial and Fidau prayers include Alhaji Aminu Tambuwai, Speaker, House of Representatives; governors Rauf Aregbesola, Adam Oshiomhole, Ibikunle Amosun, Abiola Ajumobi and Kayode Fayemi of Osun, Edo,Ogun, Oyo and Ekiti states, respectively; Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former Secretary of the Commonwealth; Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, Majority Leader, House of Representatives; Mr. Femi Okunnu and Tom Ikimi.

Musiliu Obanikoro.

The wives of the south-west governors, led by Dame Emmanuella Fashola, and chairmen of the 57 councils in the state were also there.

Fidau

The Fidau was conducted earlier in the day at the Central Mosque, Lagos Island, before she was buried at the Vaults and Garden Cemetery.

The corpse was brought into the Mosque at 11:24am, followed by a short sermon.

Alhaji Muritala Giwa, who delivered the sermon, urged Tinubu, Tambuwal, governors and the crowd at the Mosque, to always eschew violence and exhibit good attitude.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.
