Well, probably for the right reason at a wrong time, but then in Nigeria's politics, its all fair in peace and war! Relocation of citizens within a subsisting entity is wrong and albeit unlawful. This is not the first time it is happening in Nigeria but since all the states could do is to make noise and not take legal action, the illegality will continue sine die! Trust Fashola that if any Lagosian is proven to be wrongly relocated, Lagos would have taken up arms at the Supreme court. Let Kalu and co stop the hullabaloo and seek redress cum damages for the displaced citizens. It is an illegality ab initio and must be cured and estopped by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The Lagos State Government has sealed a property of a former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, in Park View Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The sealing of the house is sensed to be coming on the heels of the criticism of Fashola by Kalu over the deportation of 72 residents of Lagos, who are of South East origin.

Lagos State Mr Lateef Ibirogba did not pick his phone to air his side of the story but trust BRF, we expect a reaction any moment from now.

KUDOS TO NIG POLICE AS KIDNAPPED BRITON IS RESCUED!

By Ifeanyi Okolie

The Briton who was kidnapped last Tuesday, July 16, few minutes after he landed the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, by gunmen has been rescued by policemen attached to the Lagos State Police Command.

Vanguard gathered that a combined team of operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, and their counterpart from the Special Intelligence Bureau, SIB, stormed an uncompleted two storey building at Okota Isolo area of Lagos State, rescuing the British national and arresting a suspect.

Police sources told Vanguard that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of one million dollars before the Briton could be released, but the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Umar Manko, ordered a clamp down on the kidnap gang.

BRITISH MAN KIDNAPPED ON ARRIVAL IN LAGOS NIGERIA!

(Reuters) - A British national was kidnapped in Nigeria this week shortly after arriving at Lagos airport, the British High Commission said on Friday.

Gunmen attacked a four-wheel drive car at around 8.30 p.m. (1930 GMT) on Tuesday after it left the airport's international terminal, kidnapping a British man who was returning to a residential area of Lagos, two security sources told Reuters.
The Nigerian driver of the vehicle was shot but survived, the sources said.

"The BHM is working closely with others to secure the release of the hostage," the British High Commission said in a statement. "Because of the nature of this incident, the BHM is not going into further detail about it."

Major companies with British connections operating in Nigeria include oil giant Royal Dutch Shell, British Airways, Unilever and PricewaterhouseCoopers. There was no indication of where the kidnapped man was employed.

Kidnapping of expatriates by armed gangs seeking ransom has long been rife in Nigeria's oil producing southeast but is rarer in Lagos where most foreigners live.

A British businessman was kidnapped in March in an upmarket district of Nigeria's commercial capital but was released four days later. It was not clear if a ransom was paid.

In Nigeria's mainly Muslim north, kidnappings of foreigners for ideological motives by Islamist groups have taken a deadlier turn. Islamist group Ansaru killed seven foreign hostages in March, authorities from some of the affected countries said. (Reporting by Joe Brock; Editing by Robin Pomeroy)

Google it to Heavens! Yell it on Yahoo or Dig it up on Digg, despite all the volte-faced denials and ostrich like retreats, we have it on good authority all over the world that Kim Kardashian was paid a tax free amount of $500,000.00 for a 45minute appearance in Nigeria in February 2013!!

@UnusualFactPage: Kim Kardashian was paid $500,000.00 to show up for a 45 minute appearance in Nigeria!!!!!

Independent Nigerian TV station Channels Television reported: 'There were disappointments after Kim Kardashian came on stage for only 40 seconds.'

The channel posted pictures of the smiling star wearing a black leather dress, posing alongside the performers including 2Face, Waje, Banky W, Ice Prince, Mo’Eazy and Zaina.

Guardian blogger Jeremy Weate described how Kim's visit was an example of the country's economic elite 'blowing its money on bling puffery while most of the country suffers'.

He wrote: 'Ms Kardashian appeared, said, "Hey Naija" and vamoosed. The rumour was that she'd been paid 500,000 Benjamins for the honour of mixing with the petro-class.'

Despite staying less than a day in the city of Lagos, she was paid a reported $500,000 for her fleeting visit, angering some commentators in the African country.

FULL REPORT:

She just endured a 20 hour flight after jetting to Nigeria for less than a day.

So it was no wonder Kim Kardashian looked exhausted as she touched down at LAX airport on Monday.
While she had a full application of make-up applied to her visage, the pregnant star appeared sleepy-eyed as she walked through the terminal.

The 31-year-old reality star kept her bump hidden beneath a simple white shirt which she teamed with black trousers.
But she did manage a smile for the cameras, perhaps glad to be home.
The 32-year-old tweeted: 'Just landed back home! 20 hrs of flying. No big deal.'

Following her controversial trips to the Middle East and the Ivory Coast earlier this year, the reality star headed to Nigeria on Sunday.

Despite staying less than a day in the city of Lagos, she was paid a reported $500,000 for her fleeting visit, angering some commentators in the African country.
Kim's visit to Nigeria unfortunately coincided with the kidnapping of seven foreigners, including one Briton, by armed men in the north of the country. An Islamist group later claimed responsibility.

The mother-to-be was billed to 'co-host' the Love Like A Movie event with African R'n'B crooner Darey Art-Alade, for which tickets cost N100,000, or $640.
But according to local reports, Kim stayed at the event for 45 minutes, making a 45-second statement on the microphone.

Commentators in the country made reference to Kim's infamous sex tape as they queried why a woman of dubious 'moral rating' should be in the country at all.

This Day newspaper's Eddy Odivwri wrote: 'Many families are not exactly comfortable with her lifestyle, as she hardly cuts the image of a role model to a generation in need of a moral dress up.'

But Odivwri did welcome her visit as a sign that the country was an attractive destination to celebrities.

'Despite what is considered as Nigeria's many drawbacks, the nation remains yet a destination point to several international personages... the latest to visit... is Kim Kardashian, the world's most famous American reality show celebrity.'

Kim was criticised for her brief marriage to Kris Humphries, with Charles Mgbolu for AllAfrica writing: 'It is uncertain how much Kim is loved in Nigeria as she fell sour to a lot of her fans after her divorce with former hubby Kris Humphries in a marriage that lasted barely 72 days.'

And it wasn't just in Nigeria that eyebrows were raised, with Ghana based site GhanaCelebrities.com writing: 'My questions is; what is wrong with us Africans?

'When did Kim Kardashian become so good at hosting that she has to be paid thousands of dollars and be brought to Nigeria to handle a concert?'
