Legal challenge launched over UK's 'cruel' new travel rules

Legal action is being planned over the UK’s ‘cruel’ income threshold visa rules. Thousands of families with one British partner and one from abroad will be hit by £38,700 salary requirement under the new rules from the government.

The UK home secretary, James Cleverly, said the measure was designed to ‘crack down on those who try to jump the queue and exploit our immigration system’. Reunite Families, a support and campaign organisation for people affected by immigration rules, has instructed the law firm Leigh Day to explore legal avenues to challenge the changes, The Guardian reports.
