Irish Grand National Prediction

Enjoy D’allen team looking for compensation after early Aintree exit

Leading owner JP McManus purchased ENJOY D’ALLEN earlier this season with the Grand National in mind. Unfortunately for all those associated with the horse, their race lasted just one fence. The chaser stumbled at the opening obstacle and unseated rider Conor Orr.

With the race on Merseyside taking absolutely nothing out of the horse, it is no surprise that trainer Ciaran Murphy is opting to saddle up his runner the Irish Grand National.

The eight-year-old finished third in this race 12 months ago behind Freewheelin Dylan and Run Wild Fred respectively. He has featured just once over fences this season to protect his handicap mark as much as possible.

There can be no doubts about this horse’s stamina or his ability to act on this ground at Fairyhouse. It is likely he has improved since he lined up in this race last year. His early exit from the Grand National will soon be forgotten if he adds his name to a roll of honour that includes Desert Orchid, Arkle and Flyingbolt.
