NIGERIAN CBN EXTENDS BVN FOR DIASPORA CUSTOMERS

Please be informed that the Management of the Central Bank of Nigeria has extended the period of BVN enrolment for Nigerian bank customers in Diaspora to 31st January 2016.

This is to enable this category of bank customers ample time to enrol for the BVN.

We will like to inform you that in line with CBN directive, accounts without BVN belonging to customers resident in Nigeria have been restricted from debit transactions effective 01 November 2015. These restricted accounts will be able to receive credit inflows in cash and other means. The accounts will not be deactivated, confiscated or closed. However, customers will only be allowed to withdraw from them when they have registered for BVN.
