BROUHAHA BREWING IN ISLAND CLUB!

NIGERIA: Talebearers affirm that wahala is brewing at the Island Club Lagos as the immediate past Chairman, Prince Ademola Dada, has refused, deliberately, wittingly or unwittingly, to do a proper handover to his successor in office, Mr Dipo Okpeseyi (SAN).

There is a prognosis of brouhaha astir as Mr Okpeseyi is insisting on a proper handover especially of the financial position of the club, most notably, vis-a-vis the income and expenditure on the multi-storey car park project, which has gulped millions of naira. All attempts by respected veteran members of the club, Chief Augustine Ayo and Prince Ademola Ademiluyi, to convince Prince Ademola Dada to do the needful have so far yielded no fruits. Rather poignantly, Mr Okpeseyi is insisting that he would rather borrow money from his private sources to run the club’s affairs than to enmesh himself into the uncharted waters of unverified finances of the club. Which way out? We shall see.
