The British High Commission in Abuja has opened the tender process for the construction of a reception centre for Nigerians flying back to Lagos airport from the UK.
The returnees reception centre will be built at the Cargo terminal of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos.
The British High Commission said that aim in building the facility is to ensure that Nigerian returnees from the UK will be processed in a dignified manner, aiding their successful reintegration into Nigerian society. Nigerian Immigration Service and Nigerian returnees will be the primary beneficiaries.
The 413m2 centre will sit 50 people and include facilities including offices, an emergency sick bay and four cubicles for the processing of Nigerian returnees from the UK.
