OGD, Kashamu, Abiola Others Emerge Ogun PDP National Delegates!

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) local government congresses held on Saturday in Ogun State has been described as successful and peaceful.

Speaking with Sunday Tribune in Abeokuta after the exercise was the chairman of the five-man local government electoral committee, Mr Christian Nnaka, who explained that the exercise recorded a huge success.

The former governor of the state, Chief Gbenga Daniel, the chairman Organisation and Mobilisation, Prince Buruji Kashamu, and former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Rafiu Ogunleye, were elected as national delegates of the party.

The trio of Daniel, Kashamu and Ogunleye would represent Sagamu, Ijebu-North and Ijebu East at the December 6th national convention in Abuja.

Others were the daughter of the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 elections, Chief MKO Abiola, Mrs Lola Abiola-Edewor(Abeokuta North) former deputy governor of the state, Alhaja Salimot Badru (Ipokia), former state chairmen of the party, Chief Joju Fadairo (Ifo) and Chief Dayo Soremi(Odeda).

Other members elected as national delegates include retired General Kehinde Fasasi (Remo North); Otunba Tunde Olowu (Ijebu North East); Dr. Femi Majekodunmi (Abeokuta South); Babatunde Osholake (Obafemi Owode) and Mary Ogunjobi (Imeko Afon).

The state chairman of the party, Chief Bayo Dayo, expressed delight at the outcome of the exercise, noting that that Daniel and some others who just returned to the party have been integrated by this development
