NIGERIA TO APPOINT FORMER CHELSEA COACH AS MANAGER!

Ghana could miss out on the appointment of Avram Grant as the next head coach of the Black Stars with a reported interest from Nigeria in the ex Chelsea boss.

The 59-year-old is widely considered as the front-runner to become the substantive replacement for Kwesi Appiah following his encounter with the GFA interview panel almost a fortnight ago.

But the Ghana FA have delayed the appointment of a coach almost two weeks after interviewing three of the five shortlisted applicants.

Reports in the English media claim Nigeria have expressed interest in appointing Avram Grant as their next coach.

This fresh development comes as a massive surprise especially after it was reported earlier on Thursday that Stephen Keshi is to return to his post just within two weeks of his dismissal.

If Nigeria’s reported keen interest in Grant is true, it means the GFA could miss out on the appointment of the former Chelsea boss especially with the stronger financial muscle of the Nigerians.

Grant’s representatives are however yet to confirm the reported interest of Nigeria.

The Israeli showed his keenness on becoming the next coach of the Black Stars by showing up for the GFA interview almost a fortnight ago despite subtle rumours of his fears to travel to Africa over the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus.

But the GFA’s delay could force Grant into looking elsewhere for other opportunities which already appears to be apparent with the interest from Nigeria.
