DAVID MOYES STAGES A COMEBACK!
Moyes on Inter Milan shortlist: David Moyes could be set for a sensational return to management at Inter Milan, reports the Mail on Sunday. Current boss Walter Mazzarri’s position at the club is under consideration with the Milan club currently languishing in ninth place. Massimo Moratti resigned his post as honorary president on Friday and that decision is said to stem from a boardroom split with new owner Erick Thohir. Thohir wants to give Mazzarri time to turn the fortunes of the club around while Moratti believes the time is right for a change. Should Mazzarri be sacked, Inter are said to be interested in the services of Moyes. Sky Italia reported on Sunday that Moyes was spotted in Milan over the weekend, which added further weight to the Mail’s report.
Paper Round’s view: Moyes has always said that he is open to the idea of caching abroad so if the position becomes available then he would surely consider it. Moyes' skillset would, it could be argued, quite suit the more conservative footballing philosophy that prevails in Italy and this would appear a good opportunity to rehabilitate his reputation after a tumultuous reign at Manchester United. However, Moyes is said to be part of a short list *should* former Napoli coach Mazzarri be fired. For the moment it looks like Mazzarri’s position is safe considering he has the backing of owner Thohir.
