Man Charged £1,000 For Boarding Wrong Train To London!

A train passenger got a nasty shock when he was charged £1,000 for boarding the wrong train to London.

If you’re thinking, “Gosh, ticket prices really have gone up!”, he was travelling with 38 family and friends.

The group were going from Birmingham New Street to Euston on London Midlands-only tickets but had accidentally boarded a faster Virgin Trains service to the capital.

The man, 40, coughed up the whopping fare rather than face a fine for travelling without a valid ticket and possible prosecution.

A spokesman for Virgin Trains said: “If passengers have booked to travel with another operator their tickets are not valid on [our] services.” London24
