To keep the memory of the slain pastor Akinola alive, Honourable Rotimi Makinde (APC) of Ife Central constituency has just completed the construction of the ultra-modern church building in Ile Ife, Osun state of Nigeria which the project he personally termed as covenant fulfilled.
The former church was constructed with wood while the present one is the state-of-the-art church,well-fenced and well-decorated.(see the attached photo).
The late Pastor Akinola was brutally murdered by unknown gunmen on the eve of 2011 election in Ile-Ife in a politically-motivated assassination and the official commissioning ceremony is scheduled for Monday 27th October, 2014 at Ondo road Ile-Ife.
Hon Rotimi Makinde further stressed his dedication and commitment to the people that massively voted for him to represent them at the national assembly in Abuja and promised never to let them down as he seeks for their support for his second term in office as a federal lawmaker in 2015.
"I feel the yearnings and aspirations of my people on a regular basis.I will never let them down.I will always speak out for them and defend their interests.This newly-constructed church is in the evergreen memory of Pastor Akinola and all the innocent people murdered in cold blood by agents of darkness at the eve of 2011 election in Ile Ife Osun state.May God grant their souls eternal rest." Amen.
