The outgoing governor, who is the second governor in the history of the state to complete his four-year term, was received by a mammoth crowd of Isan indigenes, friends and well wishers who had been waiting him at Ilafon boundary of the town since 10am.

Outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Wednesday evening made a triumphal entry into Isan Ekiti, his country home, after leaving the Government House, Ado Ekiti.

The outgoing governor, who is the second governor in the history of the state to complete his four-year term, was received by a mammoth crowd of Isan indigenes, friends and well wishers who had been waiting him at Ilafon boundary of the town since 10am.

Fayemi, who alighted from his vehicle at the boundary around 2pm, trekked with his kinsmen to the palace of the Onisan of Isan, Oba Sunday Ajiboye, who thereafter prayed for him.

The crowd also followed him to his residence thereafter.

The communities members sang songs of victory that their son had served the state well and returned home hale and hearty.

Some of the community members who spoke with journalists said they were happy that the governor did them proud.

They added that no community in the state could deny the impact made by the Fayemi-led administration on the communities.

Oba Ajiboye thanked the governor’s aides for playing a major role in his success.

The monarch said there is still light at the end of the tunnel as all mysteries behind the June 21 election would be revealed.

Oba Ajiboye said he was thankful that Fayemi never let them down as he reigned gloriously.

In his remarks, Fayemi said all efforts made by his government in transforming the state would have been futile if not for God’s support.
