SUPER EAGLES TEAM LIST AGAINST IRAN!



Injury Sidelines Reuben

FORMER deputy captain of the national Under-17 team, Ramon Azeez, may join his Nigeria 2009 FIFA Cadet Championship team mates, Kenneth Omeruo and Ogenyi Onazi in the Super Eagles’ starting line up when Nigeria meets Iran on Monday.

Omeruo and Onazi have been regular in the team’s first 11 since the second game of the South Africa 2013 African Nations Cup, while Azeez, is gradually playing his way into the team.

Some other stars of the 2009 cadet championship, including Brazil’s Neymar, Marco Reus of Germany and Switzerland’s Shaqri, are already the main items in their national teams.

Going by the team’s formation in training since arriving in Campina, Juwon Oshaniwa will take the place of injured Elderson Echiejile in the starting line up, while Osaze Odemwingie will start the game against Iran from the bench.

The probables are goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, defenders include Godfrey Oboabona, Oshaniwa, Efe Ambrose and Omeruo.

The midfield could feature John Obi Mikel, Onazi and Azeez, with Emmanuel Emenike, Ahmed Musa and Victor Moses in attack.

Meanwhile, midfielder Reuben Gabriel is out of the opening game following an injury he copped at the Eagles’ training session on Thursday.

The former Enyimba star trained on the sidelines yesterday, while his mates were fine-tuning their game plan.

An NFF official, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the coaches would evaluate Reuben’s position after consulting with the team’s doctors today.
