JANINE


Janine was born in Hackney.
Mother: Bernice Saunders
Father: Michael Chin

Both her parents were born in the UK but her mum's family hails from Enhams, Victoria Village & Stubbs in St Vincent and The Grenadines. Her dad's family is from Clarendon in Jamaica (with Chinese heritage).

She is the 1st child for both parents out of 5 and her mother's only daughter.

She lives and works in Haringey.
Travelling is a mutual passion between Nnams and Janine; he is now her favourite travel buddy, which is handy for an eternity together. They have made a pact to introduce their native lands to each other soon after marriage.

Before they started dating, they grew closer after she suggested Nnams exercise his new BMW by taking a road trip to Amsterdam. This trip was to involve Dennis, but Nnams went about trying to substitute him with Janine. Not so slyly too!! His first gift to Janine was a trip to Paris. All travel plans are on hold until their bank balances recover from the wedding damage! Otherwise, Janine likes to cycle, read graphic novels and eat!!!

Janine has a BSc in Medicinal Chemistry and an MSc in Public Health (Reproductive and Sexual Health) but she lives to learn from family; who know her better than she knows herself most times.

She has chosen to dedicate her career to public health, and she now works for public health in Haringey for the community Health Trainers. Janine is very much a people person (when she is not being astronomically lazy).

Janine always wanted to have a small wedding. Actually, she always threatened her mum that she'd run away to Cambodia and marry, but imagining Nnams' face after that suggestion is deterrent enough!!! Nnams never lets her forget her whackier vocalisations, like the time they set a date for their second date and she warned him that a friend invited her out to a 'women's rights' event on the same night. She warned him that if he didn't show up, she would drown in a world of extreme feminism. No pressure then!

With the support of their friends and families, Janine hopes to enjoy a very happy marriage to Nnamudi.

NNAMUDI

Born in Greenwich, UK, to amazing parents Lauretta and George Emelieze, Nnamudi spent his childhood years in his home country, Nigeria.

He attended Nigerian Navy Primary and Secondary school.

Sadly, Nnamudi lost his father when he was in primary school at the tender age of 9 and owes his solid upbringing and morals to his Mother Lauretta who has always been the rock in his family. Last born of 4 siblings and only brother Nnamudi has 3 loving sisters (mothers is more appropriate in this context) who have had a huge hand in his formative years and continue to be pillars that he can rest and rely upon. Nnamudi moved to the UK when he was 16 to live with his sisters after they urged his mother to send him over to live with them.

Nnamudi has a BSc in Computer Systems Technology. Nnamudi worked for Accenture after graduating and left the company as a Senior Software Engineer to join Barclays Investment Bank where he is a Build and Environments Manager. Nnamudi has always had a flair for computers and his inquisitive nature has seen him work very varied roles.

Nnamudi loves to travel and has been on quite a few travel adventures with family - they've toured Europe and the USA and can not get enough of travelling. Nnamudi believes it is a blessing that his lovely wife-to-be also has the travel bug; together we have toured Europe, America and North Africa. Nnams believes their travel portfolio is far from full. They plan to road trip the USA for their honeymoon.

There were many late night and random conversations between Nnams and Janine from the start. One memorable conversation ended up with Nnamudi promising Janine an ice cream on a warm summer evening and a roof down drive (Nnamudi and Janine both enjoy drives). It finally happened a year and a half after dating, but better late than never!

Nnamudi knew what he had to do when they randomly started talking about a road trip to Amsterdam. She tried to suggest that this trip involve Dennis and be a boys trip. The road trip ended up being to Paris with the lovely Janine... sorry Dennis!!

HOW WE MET

Janine and Nnamudi had an interesting start; they met through a mutual friend and started off doing the friend thing...

Nnams recounts sitting up till way past midnight giving Janine some advice about how to handle her "crush" and thinking "Nnams what are you doing talking this girl away from you?".

There were many late nights and random conversations...

The rest is history - they’ve shared some amazing adventures around the world, and now they’re ready to share the rest of their lives together, too!
