Submit new evidence after your appeals



You can submit new evidence if your asylum application has been refused and you have no more right to appeal. This is called a ‘further submission’.

The new evidence:
can be for your original claim or a new claim
must be something that you didn’t have until now

You can only make a further submission if you’ve been through every available appeal process.

You can’t submit new evidence from outside the UK.
How to make a further submission

Download and fill in the ‘further submissions form’ to make your further submissions. Follow the guidance on the form.

You can only submit new evidence that wasn’t in any of your previous applications or appeals.

You should say why you can’t return to your home country.

You can be prosecuted and forced to leave the UK if you give false evidence.

You should submit new evidence as soon as you can - you’ll usually have to submit evidence in person.

You must make an appointment to submit the evidence in person at the Further Submissions Unit (FSU) in Liverpool.

You can’t submit evidence without an appointment.

You must bring 1 of the following documents to prove your identity:
valid passport
IS96 with photograph
previous immigration status document
driving licence (if you’ve already submitted a photo of yourself)
If you claimed asylum on or after 5 March 2007

You can submit evidence when you report to your regional reporting centre.

If you report to a police station instead of a reporting centre, ask the person you report to for the contact details of your nearest reporting centre. You need to make an appointment at the reporting centre to give evidence.
Submit by post or fax

You can only submit evidence by post or fax if you have permission to do so.

You’ll only get permission to submit by fax or post if you’re:
disabled or ill and unable to travel
in prison or in detention
an unaccompanied asylum-seeking child

If you applied for asylum before 5 March 2007, call the FSUappointment and enquiry line to ask for permission.

If you applied for asylum on or after 5 March 2007, you need to ask permission from the reporting centre or police station that you report to.

You must include evidence that you meet the criteria for submitting by fax or post when you submit your evidence.
