The Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero is dead. Alhaji Dr. Ado Abdullahi Bayero (CFR, LLD, JP) was a former ambassador to Senegal and has held the position of Emir since 1963. The longest serving Emir prior his death was the son of Abdullahi Bayero dan Muhammad Abbas. He was age 83. Burial according to Islamic tenets will follow shorty. More details later
