It was a disgraceful show of shame when one of Lagos State’s representatives, Prince Rabiu Oluwa, took the floor in contribution to the three minutes allowed speech for each delegate to comment on the speech of President Jonathan. After listening to prestigious and erudite deliveries from most of the other delegates, it was not the best that Lagos could provide, almost the worst, when Prince Rabiu Oluwa, former three terms Chairman of Ajeromi Local Government took the floor and delivered an unintelligible, ungrammatical and undignified speech that failed to recognise the excellence of the city and people of Lagos.
While the whole nation was in unison requesting for a change of the system of governance in Nigeria from the present unitary government mode to a truly federal mode of government, Oluwa, probably acting OHMV (On His Master’s Voice), continuously pine for statism. Not only did he sound uninterested and unmotivated, he bothered on being obscurantist. Oluwa, former President of Eko Club, a nice guy to the hilt, was probably representing Lagos Royalty, but we wonder whether Oba Tunji Akiloye of Ajiranland or any of the royal princes of Ikate, Oniru or Onikoyi would not have put up a better appearance. Was this the best that Lagos could offer? Or was it a deliberate input, setup to disgrace Lagosians by the APC? We understand that Prince Oluwa’s delivery is now on Youtube—judge for yourself.
