FRACAS AT OSUN PDP DELEGATES ELECTION!

Violence and Disruption of Delegates election at Ayedaade Local Government ……..Police Affairs Minister fingered

This man was seriously injured in a pandemonium that ensued in ward six, Ayedaade Local Government when the Minister of Police Affairs, Alh. Jelili Adesiyan and his cohorts stormed different venues of the delegate election within the Local Government.

In ward six, the peaceful atmosphere at the venue came to a halt when the Minister of Police Affairs, Alh. Adesiyan allegedly appeared with his security aides to beat, harass, teargas and intimidate innocent people who had gathered to vote.

Also noteworthy that the electoral officer for this ward is Mr Oyeyemi Demola, a younger brother to Alh. Jelili Adesiyan who is a staunch and open supporter of Otunba Iyiola Omisore.

In ward five, the electoral officer that was sent to conduct the election practically sabotaged and charged the already tensed atmosphere. The officer who belongs to the Omisore group sneaked out of the venue with the result sheet when he discovered that the results were not favorable to his group.

In ward eight, the election in this ward could not hold due to the violence caused by the Omisore group. The chaos started when one Ebenezer Okunola attacked Adesina Saheed with a heavy stick, hell was let loose thereafter and the fracas was supervised by Mrs Funmi Adesiyan, the younger wife of the Minister of Police Affairs, Alh. Adesiyan Jelili.

Stakeholders within the party and party members are united in their resolve to win this forthcoming Aug 9 gubernatorial election for the party but this can only be achieved with a hitch-free ward congress and party primaries. In one of the conducted interviews, a retired principal said “what we saw today is very very sad, we expected PDP to have learnt from their past mistakes and present a credible candidate for the people of the state. Yes, we are tired of the current misrule and grounded economic situation but we will not vote a party that moves around with machetes, cutlass and guns.

There is serious politicking going on within the state and the only thing the people of the state are waiting for is, who is that candidate that will square up against Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola? Will he be a man of virtue of no questionable past? Answers to these questions will definitely determine the outcome of the Aug 9 gubernatorial election.
