A cyclist is fighting for his life after an accident involving a van near Victoria this morning.
Police were called to Vauxhall Bridge Road at 9.40am this morning, a spokesman said, to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a bike.
Paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance were also sent to the crash scene, with the busy main road closed to traffic during rush hour.
The Met spokesman said the cyclist’s injuries were being treated as ‘life-threatening’, but the London Ambulance Service confirmed the man was ‘conscious and breathing’ when firs responders arrived at the junction with Neathouse Place.
Buses are currently on diversion around Vauxhall Bridge Road so check with TfL before travelling
