Thegazellenews.com learnt the incident took place early Thursday, 20th March, 2014 and led to the whole Theatre Department building being razed down by the raging inferno.
Although men of the Lagos State Fire Service have been able to put out the fire, the cause has not been known as at the time of going to press.
Popular comedian, Hafiz Oyetoro a.k.a Saka, a lecturer in the Theatre Arts Department of the institution, lost valuable properties to the inferno.
According to the popular comedian who spoke with our correspondent this morning, all his awards were lost to the inferno.
