PHOTO: CANADA SET TO DEPORT ANOTHER NIGERIAN STUDENT! !

CANADA: An international student has been convicted of of assault and sexual assault at provincial court. 21-year-old Elijah George has been convicted of assaulting a nurse at the Health Science Centre's psychiatric ward last May, and sexually assaulting another nurse. George was an inpatient at the facility when the offenses occurred, both of which are classified as being on the "lower end" of seriousness.

George came to Newfoundland from Nigeria in December of 2012 to attend Memorial University, however he did not get to spend much time at his studies. He was admitted to the psychiatric ward in April after being diagnosed with schizophrenia. George was handed a suspended sentence for the assault, and was given 60 days for the sexual assault. Since he has already served almost eight months in jail, his time has been more than served. Now, George's case will be passed over to Canada Border Services. Generally, once a non-Canadian has served a prison sentence, they are to be turned over to the C.B.S.A for deportation. In the meantime, George will likely be held at Her Majesty's Penitentiary.

George had also been accused of voyeurism during his stay at the Health Sciences. The charge was dismissed at court Friday. Judge David Orr said that while George's behaviour was offensive, his peeping over the bathroom stall at a woman was not done surreptitiously, which is a key component of the charge.
