DABIRI, GBAJABIAMILA ON A WASTEFUL LONDON JAMBOREE!!

A supposedly Nigeria Dialogue forum was held in London recently, wherein the personalities that graced the event were Hon Abike Dabiri, Senator Babajide Omoworare, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Dr.Sam Amadi and many others. The event carried the toga of a pseudo-political jamboree organised by group of Nigerian friends in diaspora, a white elephant shopping project by the dignitaries invited. Surely, the National Assembly must have footed the bills, another abject waste of public funds and a double-faced attribute of so called progressives. Bear in mind that Hon Abike Dabiri has been pencilled down as the next Deputy Governor of Lagos state 2015, so any contrived avenue to be relevant will make sense.

Whenever you hear the name 'Nigeria Dialogue' anywhere online. What comes to your mind instantly is a group of concerned Nigerian professionals thinking about the progress and development of Nigeria.

It is so easy for anybody to confuse the name with the proposed Confab committee recently inaugurated by President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria.

Who are the people that recently organised a gala night on Saturday 18th January under the platform of ' Nigeria Dialogue' in central London and majority of Nigerians in diaspora were not aware of the whole event?

Many concerned Nigerians in diaspora are not happy with the whole arrangement as they were excluded from taking part in the event. One of the concerned Nigerians in London,Mr Adewale voiced out his anger :

"This is not a true representation of majority of Nigerians in the whole of the United Kingdom. Why choosing an expensive venue not easily reachable to many Nigerians in England?.This is just an avenue for some Nigerians to make quick money from our politicians."

This event was regarded by many Nigerians as a wasteful jamboree since it would not have any direct and positive influence on Nigerians living at home and abroad.

When will these people start their so-called projects in Nigeria from all the money raised in the night? The ticket was sold for £75 per head and we reliably gathered that the hall was only reserved for 150 guests only but less than 80 people attended the event.

Many of the ushers used at the event were not that friendly to Nigerians and other important guests at the event. When one of the guests whose name was 'missing' on the main list asked one of the ushers(a lady) to behave well to the guests.

She replied thus :"I am British,I don't think like Nigerians.I am sorry if I offended anybody here today."
