Supreme court drop charges against Bode George
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has upturned the ruling of a Lagos High Court which convicted Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Bode George.

The ruling, which happened Friday morning, stated that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had no evidence that he committed fraud at the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) as alleged.
According to the judges, led by John Afolabi Fabiyi JSC, the charges of “contract splitting” filed against George was unknown to the law.
The apex court declared the PDP chieftain discharged and acquitted.
George was accused of committing fraud while he was the chairman of the NPA in 2009, after which he was convicted and jailed for 30 months by a Lagos court.
