2-NIGERIAN MEN IN VIOLENT STREET FIGHT IN DUBLIN!

GARDAÍ HAVE ISSUED a renewed appeal for witnesses and any video footage of yesterday’s brutal daylight attack in Swords, North Co Dublin.

Locals were left shocked yesterday afternoon when a fight between two men spilled out into the street at around 12.50pm. Both participants were Nigerian. Two baseball bats were recovered from the scene by gardaí afterwards.

One man remains in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital this afternoon as a result of the incident. Another man, aged in his 30s, is being questioned by gardaí.

Speaking at Swords Garda Station this morning, Superintendent Ronan Galligan issued three appeals: for any additional witnesses who hadn’t been in touch with gardaí to do so, for anyone in the local Nigerian community with information to come forward, and for those with footage of the fight to hand it over.

“We have a very special appeal in relation to anybody that may have captured any of what happened on mobile phones,” Galligan said.

He said it was essential that the footage be handed directly to investigating officers and not uploaded to social media outlets.
