Getting a visa can be a scary process! There are lots of forms to fill out, interviews to attend and with the possibility of having to speak a language you don’t know very well, it can be overwhelming.
However, there are some ways to make your visa process go more smoothly, and improve your chances of being granted your visa. It applies to all embassies, not only UK or US.
Know that anyone and everyone is eligible to apply but not all can meet the requirements.

The first rule is that except you are a Governor or GEJ, visa issuance is never guaranteed! In life only death is sure and guaranteed, visa issuance is on a balance of probabilities! You can only increase your chances. Nobody can guarantee you will be issued a visa. Do not fool yourself. Good packaging can be guaranteed, but the final decision lies with the visa officer.
Avoid fake/forged or false documentation! Once you avoid this, then you have increased your chances by 50%! Don't think you are smart, you will be caught out. Technology has advanced. Better to be refused normally than to be refused and banned for 10 years. If only some Nigerians will listen!
Furthermore, avoid spurious advice. In Nigeria, almost every dick, Harry, Fatai, Musa and Babatunde is a visa expert. Size up the tout advising you and his background. Remember, you are an adult and responsible for your actions. Do not cry foul later. Get a PROFESSIONAL advice if imperative.
Guide your documents jealously. Trust no one especially the correspondent visa office staff at VFS or wherever, whatever it is called. Everyone is looking for an opportunity.
Do your homework very well. Fill your forms and do all copies from home. Do not get to the centre and start looking for pencil and eraser! That is a sure recipe for refusal because you will definitely be refused.

Remember,
Here are our top 10 tips for making your visa process easier.
1. Check the spelling of your name on your application and passport. This is an easy one, but having the wrong spelling could really slow down your visa process, and it’s a simple thing to check.
2. Ensure that you are applying for the right visa for your intended stay. If you are looking to do any work, most countries require a different visa than for studying only.
3. Apply for your visa with enough time before you plan to travel or study abroad. The stress of having to rush a visa process leads to mistakes and nervousness, and you don’t want your visa rejected because of it!
4. Visit the embassy’s website to ensure you have everything you need, and that the process hasn’t changed. The websites usually have the most updated information available, and finding out direct from the source means you aren’t misled.
5. Re-check your application twice, and if possible, have someone else read it over as well. Any error or a missed field could cost you valuable time!
6. Bring all your documentation to a visa interview. It’s always better to have too much information than not enough. Bring proof of enrolment to a course, your passport, any degrees, certification letters, transcripts and proof of work experience.
7. Bring the required proof that you’re planning on returning home after your course or vacation ends. You will probably be asked to prove that you intend to return to your home country, and not having the required proof will probably mean a rejected application.
8. Be able to prove that you have enough money for your trip. You will need to prove that you or your sponsor can afford to go on the trip and that you can afford to pay your own expenses.
9. Dress and act professionally during your interview. Don’t argue with your interviewer, and be polite and friendly. Presenting yourself well means you’ll make a better impression, and you’ll be taken more seriously.
10. Ensure that your passport does not expire for at least 6 months from your visa application. Having a valid passport for the duration of your stay is essential!
These tips should help make your visa process go much more smoothly. And with a bit of luck, your dreams may come true! CONGRATULATIONS!

ME HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION CONCERNING VISA ISSUE.TO BE FRANK NIGERIANS NEED NOT CROWED FOR VISA TO AMERICA OR UK.WE DO IT OUT OF IGNORANCE.HOW?
ReplyDeleteNIGERIA IS THE MOST POPULOUS COUNTRY IN AFRICA WITH ENOUGH FIANCIAL POWER TO PURCHASE MOST OF THE GOODS PRODUCED FROM THESE COUNTRIES.ALL COUNTRIES IN AFRICA PUT TOGETHER DO NOT MATCH OUR PURCHASING POPULATION.
THEREFORE THEY CAN NOT DO WITHOUT US IN THEIR DEALINGS WITH AFRICA.
SECOND,NIGERIA HAS HIGHEST MINERAL DEPOSITS IN AFRICA IN COMMERCIAL QUANTITIES.
MOST OF THE MINERALS ARE NEEDED BY THESE COUNTRIES.
POLITICAL,NIGERIA IS THE BIG BROTHER TO MANY AFRICAN COUNTRIES WITH A LOT OF INFLUENCE.THANKS TO OBASANJO FOR REKINDLING THAT IMAGE FOR US.
NIGERAI USED TO BE ADDRESSED AS A FRONTLINE STATE IN THOSE DAYS OF MURITALA ADMINISTRATION.
NIGERIA SINGLE HANDED FAUGHT FOR THE INDEPENCE OF ANGOLA FROM PORGUESE GOVERNMENT.NOT ONLY THAT,NIGERIA SUPPLIED ANGOLA ENOUGH FOOD AND MEAT FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF THEIR INDEPENDENCE.WITH ENOUGH AMUNITION AND $60M CASH TO TAKE OF AS A COUNTRY.
IN THE LATE 70S AND EARLY 80S.NIGERIA WAS MORE VIBRANT IN FIGHTING THE SLAVE DRIVERS IN SOUTHERN AFRICA THAN ANY ALL COUNTIRES AND PERSONS PUT TOGETHER BOTH IN AFRICA AND OUTSIDE.
BEFORE,IF A? NIGERIAN ENTERED A SHOP IN UK AND THERE WERE OTHER SHOPPERS THERE BEFORE HIM,THE ATTENDANTS WILL QUICKLY ATTEND TO THE NIGERIAN BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE HAS MORE REAL CASH TO PURCHASE IN LARGE QUANTITY GOODS THAN MOST OF THE OTHER SHOPPERS PUT TOGETHER.DITTO TO AMERICA.
WE LOST ALL THESE BECAUSE OF INEPTITUDENESS OF OUR POLITICAL LEADERSHIP.
IMAGINE SOUTH AFRICA SENDING BACK NIGERIANS BECAUSE OF YELLOW CARD?IAM QUITE SURE IT IS NIGERIA GOVERNMENT THAT PAID THAT OFFICERS SCHOOL FEES WHILE SOUTH AFRICA WAS STILL INSLAVERY.
MANY OF THEM WENT TO UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS,IBADAN ETC FOR THEIR EDUCATION AT THE EXPENSE OF NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT.
I WOULD HAVE LOVE A SITUATION WHEREBY NO NIGERAIN WILL VISTI THEIR EMBASSY FOR 3 YEARS TALK LESS OF APPLYING FOR VISA.
THEY WILL RUN INTO FIANCIAL CRISIS IN RUNNING THEIR EMBASSY.
HOW I WISH WE HAVE A REAL PRESIDENT,WHO CAN MAKE OUR INTERNATIONAL THIEVES TO REPATRIATE ALL THOSE STOLEN MONEY STASHED AWAY INTO THESE COUNTRIES AND PROMISE THEM TO INVEST THE FUNDS FREELY WITHOUT GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS.I BET WITHIN 5YEARS THESE COUNTRIES WILL BE BEGGING US TO COME AND TAKE THEIR VISAS FREE.
THEY HONESTLY NEED US MORE THAN WE NEED THEM.
BUT WILL THIS EVER HAPPENED??????
