Ms Oyindamola Olaniyan, less than 3 months on the job, single and a customer
service staff of Globacom Nigeria, domiciled at Victoria Island Lagos, was
one of the occupants of a Danfo bus en-route CMS at about 11am on Saturday
10/08/2013. Unfortunately, the bus crash landed from Alaka bridge and
engulfed in fire. We gathered all the passengers escaped with various
degrees of injuries while Oyindamola was unlucky as she got burnt with the vehicle.
We sincerely hope there is a life insurance in place for staff of this top organisations.
She died in the course of duty and the family must be compensated one way or the
other. Nigerians and all organisations must embrace life insurance policy for all.
Organisations like this shoud have a staff bus, Glo is a multinational. We expect a
very high level of staff welfare policies in place. Another story for another day.
This is what is expected of Trade Unions and NLC.

Globacom is known to be a responsible organisation anyway and must
do more in the area of staff welfare.

May her soul rest in peace.
