Seven State Governors, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alongside their delegates walked out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Special convention holding at the Eagles Square in Abuja.
Unconfirmed report from the venue say former President Olusegun Obasanjo also walked out of the venue.
THEWILL understands that the governors are those of Sokoto, Kano, Rivers, Adamawa, Niger, Jigawa and Kwara.
The Governors gathered at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre, where they addressed a press conference and declared Abukakar Baraje Chairman of the party, while Olagunsoye Oyinlola was named National Secretary.
The faction is expected to open a National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
