It is trite that almost all Africans were traditionalists before the missionaries and Saudi invasion! Let no one fool themselves, only God knows what each and everyone does behind closed doors and in their villages! A rude realisation of this reality is the approval of a public holiday for traditionalists in Osun State, Lagos celebrates Eyo festival like Xmas day and many others. The day of judgement will be as exciting as a James Bond 007 thriller! It is well.

How would one describe a popular man of God being a member of a traditional cult, which majorly carries out its functions at night? Shocking as it may be, this is not a movie but a reality.
Residents of Gbongan in Osun State, Ikola Odunsi area specifically, where the late founder of the Christ Revival Victory Chapel International, Ayobo, Ipaja, Lagos, Prophet Ireti Ajanaku, died on Saturday, after a brief illness, were thrown into an ocean of dismay when a traditional cult group in the South West of Nigeria, ‘Oro’, held funeral rites in honour of the controversial pastor.

As it is in the practise of the cult group, such rites are held in the middle of the night whenever one of its members dies.
On Tuesday, at about 12midnight to 3am, members of the ‘Oro’ cult wailed and chanted the name of the late man of God, mourning his death. They moved within streets in the area continuously chanting his name in Yoruba; ‘Ajanaku lo, o di gbere’, meaning ‘Ajanaku is no more, he is gone forever.’
Late Ajanaku was the estranged spiritual father of popular gospel singer, Tope Alabi.
