The mother of Mrs. Patience Jonathan, Nigeria’s First Lady has been killed in a car crash on Monday evening, at the outskirts of Port Harcourt, as she made her way to Bayelsa, the home state of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Popularly called Sisi, a source close to the first family, said she was adopted by Mrs. Jonathan as mom to fill in for her biological mother who passed on during her teen years.
The source said her remains have been logged into a morgue in Port Harcourt.
Mrs. Jonathan is presently in Geneva, Switzerland, attending an international convention hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
There has been no official statement from the Presidency.
