A man and a woman, thought to be in their 60s, have been found dead at a house in Dagenham.

Police and ambulance were called to the property in Stevens Road at around 4.15am, where the pair were declared dead at the scene.

The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained.

A spokesman from the Met Police, who are investigating, said officers believe they know who the man and the woman are but a formal identification has not yet taken place.

Next of kin are being traced.

The house is cordoned off and police and forensic officers are still at the terraced home.
