African TV channel TVC News is now available to television viewers in the UK through Sky.
The 24-hour channel was launched on the platform on June 17th and officials are hoping it gives British TV audiences a new insight into Africa.
Chief Executive of TVC News Nigel Parsons said both good and bad news stories will be "told through African eyes".
However, he confirmed that he hopes the network will help to dispel a few myths surrounding Africa.
"Without shying away from reporting the conflicts or the corruption, the famine or the wars, the mission of TVC News is also to tell the many positive stories coming out of Africa," Mr Parsons commented.
The network, which describes its reporting as "fearless" and "informative", can be viewed on Sky channel 572 and will include a mix of programmes relating to various subjects.
For instance, regular news bulletins will be interspersed with more in-depth political coverage and analysis, as well as programmes on arts and culture.
Sports and entertainment updates will also be on the agenda, along with weather forecasts and shows covering youth and gender issues.
