NIGERIAN CARNIVAL IRELAND-DUBLIN OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

…Celebrating Cultural Diversity

PRESS RELEASE
Nigerian Carnival Ireland (NCI): Gathering for Integration.
From Monday 12th – Sunday 18th August 2013

Dublin will come alive with the sight, sound and taste of Nigeria for one whole week from Monday 12th – Sunday 18th August 2013 at the Nigerian Carnival Ireland 2013. Join the Carnival Train for an explosion of entertainment, cultural celebration and social inclusion as the one week Carnival of performance, spectacle and participation is set to bring a formula for some much needed family fun.

NIGERIAN CARNIVAL IRELAND is the initiative of Ddymensions Communications and is brought alive by the dedication and commitment of a hard working Planning committee, team of volunteers and our amazing Media partners Africa Independent Television (AIT) International. Now in its fourth year, the first of its kind celebration of Nigeria and Nigerians in the Republic of Ireland brings Nigerians and lovers of Nigeria together in the largest such gathering.

The aim of NCI is to promote integration, celebrate cultural diversity and heritage; educate people about Nigeria, promote Nigeria’s rich resources and encourage participation in the promotion of its cultural heritage as a country, to re-orientate peoples’ perception of the country, thereby defeating negative stereotypes. These we achieve through information dissemination and entertainment.

According to the Carnival Director of NCI, Yemi Adenuga, “We are very excited about this year’s carnival which features Road shows in 11 Different Cities of Ireland between June and August to Promote the Carnival. The amazing Julius Agwu, Nigeria’s A-List Comedian, will be raising the roof at the Awards/Comedy Night among other things. You cannot afford to miss a single day this year, especially the food fest, Fashion show, Grand carnival and comedy night “.

NCI is open to the public and participants can enjoy an exciting week as they explore the many opportunities provided for businesses to promote their products and services. The carnival showcases folktales, costumes, arts and crafts and joggles participants’ memory of oldies but goodies. It features exclusive performances and displays by various cultural troupes from different ethnic groups within and outside Ireland, music by various artistes, fashion show and product display by vendors.

Participants can enjoy the delicious taste of palate tingling, mouth watering, finger licking, traditional foods/drinks from Nigeria and other cultures. They can also learn how to make many traditional food, braid hair, tie Gele {head gear} and learn different languages, dance-steps, songs and other cultural values from around the world. Children are not left out as the NCI CHILDREN’s VILLAGE features stories told in the ‘tales by moonlight’ fashion. They can have Ice-Cream, freshly made Candy Floss, Popcorn, Slush, Cake and also enjoy Face Painting, Colouring and Puzzle sessions, Limbo Dancing,
